I've never posted a real flame here. You all do such a good job i'm happy just surfing the forums. But I feel like throwing in my 2 cents today.

There's alot of issues that come along with being a bruiser. Thing's like wanting to be higher dps, or fixed avoidance tanking against epics and named mobs. Either of those leading to us being a more wanted class in raids. Having a str AA line one could actually consider using. Some more T8 legendary quest rewards, or a few more alternates to all the healer leather i've seen dropping. Our mezz and stun back on seperate reuse timers. A better set bonus for our fabled sets. You all know the list.

To add to the fun, I'm a bruiser on an exchanger server. Where bought toons can make raiding suck. People joining raid guilds with geared out toons who don't know their ass from their elbow about playing their class (walking from one side of a room to the other in some cases). Or some newb running around w/ a toon that used to be your friend and who can't even target a mob.

But you know what? I love my bruiser. I've played him since lvl 1 and he f*$cking rocks. I love kicking ass. I raid and I raid good. I've been in raid guilds that don't suck. I loved raiding Emerald Halls and having someone new to raiding see me off-tank any named in there with a bruiser on those nights when we didn't have a 2nd plate tank online to step up to the plate. Or playing around in KoS and EoF heroic zones and instances and tanking/crazy dpsing/ owning EVERYTHING. Having someone's friend along who's never really notice brawlers before and teleporting to some mob, dragging its ass back with me and beating the crap out of it, them standing there going ZOMG WTF was that BBQ M8?!

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with my bruiser.

But the other day, I saw something that bummed me out alot more than anything has in this game in a while. Some SK running around Freeport wearing a Gi. That legendary Tunic of Echoes. I didn't realize how much I liked being different till then. It's just a stupid look, but it's one more thing SOE has taken away from this class for no reason.

Maybe the game developers mindsets are make everything availible to everyone, then everyone will be happy? Why not just make one single class and be done with it.

I like passing other bruisers or monks and thinking "Dam, that guys a brawler. Rock on."

Soooooo...... What I've seen so far? Gi's tagged Fighter, Priest, Scout. There's two T8 gi's that i know of. The legendary Tunic of Echoes. The fabled T8 jarsath one. Throw in any old 1 or 2-handed stick and you've got yourself a faux brawler. There's even a legendary Fighter, Priest, Scout rice bowl hat, the Partially Devoured Headwrap.

Why??

Yeah I saw an illusionist wearing the rice hat in his appearance slot... I TRULY feel bad for monks though.

You see, Back when we were all playing in DoF, SOE promised that in KoS, we'd all have unique Class specific hats. Well, Bruisers and Monks got stuck with the rice hat at first... the thing that sucks is that the Rice Hat, was available in DOF in 2 forms. In DoF, having a rice hat meant you were an accomplished raider. In KoS, it meant you had done your Hooluk quest, and in EoF, it meant you were a monk, as Bruisers got the headband.
Now in RoK, everyone can wear Monk-Looking gear, including the class hat. I think Monks need to get a special hat graphic, because they never, truly, got one of their own. They only got recycles of other helms.

To add insult to injury, a Conj's new scout pet is a monk. A fucking monk. It's bad enough avoidance tanking is broken and will never be fixxed, but do they have to say that brawlers mite as well be a conj's scout pet?

WOW. I totally didn't know that about the conj pet. My rl friend sold his conj like a month before the xpac came out. That's LAME.

You know the sk I saw in freeport wearing the legendary gi? Haha, it was Pawn.

I remember the fabled rice bowl from DoF, and when they released the update to make the relic and Hooluh's hat customizable into a headband. I could never go with the brown headband, lol. I customized the relic asap though, that original skullcap is UGGGGGLYYY


SOE should add a T8 class specific hat quest or something.....

I was so proud of my Skullcap of the Draconic Disciple, and Gi of the Dark Disciple, when I got them in T6. People who saw me knew I had uber gear without even having to inspect me. After KoS, I never put the rice hat on again.

HA! Good point, but I must correct you. the graphic for the hat I wore, was 1st introduced in DoF, as a leather helm. It had druid stats, but was brawler wearable, and my original Crabbok eventually did get one, simply for looks back in DoF. It was not until KoS that the same graphic became available to mages.
So to answer your question, No, I was not wearing a conj hat.

I'm disappointed in this as well, give me the ability to wear other people's class specific hats and plate/chain armor in my appearance slots and we'll call it even

I don't really see this a big deal. There have been Gis equipable by all fighters, scouts, and priests on the pvp servers for nearly two years now. To say the least it has been hardly game breaking or ruined my unique look.

The more people that can equip GIs and "rice hats" the more GIs and rice hats you'll see dropping in game.

The minute GIs go back to only useable by two classes you'll start seeing one per expansion again.

So pick which of those two you'd rather bitch about.
