Default Bruiser, good for pvp and end game?

I just started playing EQ2, and I can't decide a class. I was going to roll a dirge cause I heard everyone wants them, but they fail at pvp, so I made a bruiser. Question is, are bruisers good for pvp? And are they needed end game? Kinda useless to get 60+ and not get groups i'd think. If not, what other classes are decent in pvp and are needed?

PVP your server choice is pretty much nagafen.
pvp bruisers do ok, raid wise you can always betray to monk .
But no brawler is super high raid demand.

Bruisers are good in T2 and again T8 pvp and ok for the rest though a skilled bruiser can be good at all levels. Bruisers are not wanted in raids but that may change by the time you reach the cap. The good news is you can strictly pvp for a fabled gear set.

I was thinking about a brigand, but theyre not really needed for pvp, so what about a conjuror, I heard they're damn good in pvp, but what about raids, are they needed?

I think you got that a bit reversed there. Brigand is top dog of pvp and is highly sought after on raids come end game. Brigand is somewhat like a bruiser only they get stealth, smuggle, evac, double up, dispatch, shennanigens and can wear the parry belt. The Conjuror in terms of pvp is a broken class due to pet pathing being broken. Any dps class can cut a conjy down in seconds before the pet can even get close. Conjuror will probably do alright in raid though.

Ok, looks like im gonna roll a brigand then, i've always played rogue classes, my first MMO World of warcraft, twelve sky, anarchy online. Just didn't think they'd be needed alot for raids, also, any chance you have a guild I could join to learn the ropes once I buy the full version, hopefully the server has alot of PvP too, cause I don't wanna go through the whole greifing process again on nagafen like I did in WoW. Even though I love pvp. Oh and just relized, I meant I didnt think brigands weren't really needed for pve, just cause every game i've played full on DPS classes are in abundance. What would be a good race for a brigand, troll? I hear they had really nice racials.

A raid can pick up 2 or even as much as 3 brigands. But never more then one monk or bruiser (and most likely it will be a monk). But there is a shitload of brigans out there right now, the m1's are overpriced as well as gear for lower levels is.

You might want to look at the Nagafen boards for guilds. As for griefing don't worry about that. Low level players are protected by a pvp level range so your level 10 toon won't get slaughtered by 80s. In eq2 at the start you can only be attacked by players 4 levels higher than you.

The only problem with Brigands is that they are a dime a dozen in freeport. Its probably the most played class in freeport side. So you have to be an exceptional brigand to raid high end. PVP wise youll have no problem finding groups or soloing as a brigand. some consider it easy mode pvp cause of all the advantages they get.
