T8 Bruisers as tanks?
I had to leave the game just before RoK but I may be coming back soon. When I left Bruisers weren't effective tanks under the EoF expansion, they just couldn't survive very long in certain instances. Those freakin' mobs hit like trucks.
How do they tank in T8? Can they handle tanking in all or at least most instances? Do they need 2 healers? Or should I just delete him and level up a zerker? :P

The one exception is an instance known as maidens. Sandstorm and the Three sisters can be really rough on non-raid geared bruisers. Deep Chardok can also be a pain on a bruiser when you have to fight 86^^^ mobs.
Though bruisers are better tanks in RoK than they were in EoF there is still a lot to be desired if tanking is really your thing. If you really want to tank then shelve that bruiser and play your Zerker.

I made a Bruiser because I wanted to be able to both tank and solo well, and at the time of KoS it seemed like they could do both. They are a blast to play, but EoF really took the wind out of my sails.
I look forward to trying him out when I get back in the game. Thanks for the info!

Re: T8 Bruisers as tanks?
To answer your question, honestly and seriously, brawlers tank instances better than any plate tanks. Any brawler that cant tank better than plate in instances is just fuckin retarded.
So far i've tanked every instance in offensive stance, and have only needed 2 healers for Maiden's chamber, but thats because of sandstorm being a dick more than anything. I've also had me and several other brawler guildies of mine parse in access of 8-9k parses easy in zones like CoA. The *almost* as good as plate tank idea is just coming from people being stuck with pick ups.
Chardok also got nerfed recently Obano, there is now no mobs above level 84.
I tank for raids, im geared better than your average brawlers but even then, but like 90% of my gear is instanced, so you cant just blame it on like my 3-4 raid gear pieces.

Re: T8 Bruisers as tanks?
Yup, as someone who's played alot of tank classes (although not any brawlers)...I would say brawlers are better than all plate tanks for most single-group content. The problem is that too many brawlers never learn how to tank, so when they try and suck they get discouraged and foster the reputation that brawlers suck at tanking. Or they simply don't want to tank, they think of themselves as pure dps.
Healers got a big boost in power in ROK, so its not difficult for a competent healer to keep a crappy tank alive...the point of doing instances is to get thru it as fast as possible with the least screw ups, and both brawlers excell in that with DPS and FD. Assuming equal skill and gear, I'd prefer a brawler for single group content over a plate tank. Of course, if I'm trying to find a pickup tank I don't touch brawlers because theres too many shitty brawlers to risk snagging a good one ^_^

Then a lot of ppl must have suddenly sucked at the class, I've known some raid geared bruisers with mad skills not able to last long in some of those instances.
I knew there had to be at least one douchebag who had nothing more to contribute than "you suck". Personally I think you're full of shit but I guess we can't prove it.

Re: T8 Bruisers as tanks?
For casual brawlers, they have about 36% mitigation unbuffed in offensive and about 42% mit with group buff. It's a disaster to heal casual brawlers in VOES and harder instances because they don't have enough mitigation. The damage spike makes healer(s) mad.
That's why most PUG want to get a plate tank rather than a brawler unless they know you are skilled and geared.
For casual players, plate tanks > brawlers in tanking group encounters.
For high end players, brawlers > plate tanks in tanking group encounters.
