New Bruiser here - tips?
Hiya!
After having spent my MMO life (EQ, WoW, Vanguard) as a shaman/druid type, I thought I'd try something that can actually kick some serious hiney.
My Bruiser's only level 23 right now, but I'm working on her. Can anyone offer any tips as to how to handle her? I've been trying to find AGI and STR gear for her; pleae let me know if I should be looking in another direction regarding that.
Thanks for any and all help!
(oh, and can someone please tell me politely if my sig is too big?)

Re: New Bruiser here - tips?
Your sig is amazing btw, but may make some peopel think that you are a female toon or some kind of elf or fairy.... and lets not be silly here, but we all know that girls and weak races should never be bruisers!
On a more serious note, 23 is kinda low, and I wouldn't invest too much time in gear at that level, as you'll be outgrowing the gear faster than you can get it. Generally what you want to look for in a bruiser will have 2 categories. DPS gear and Tanking Gear. Many bruisers will have a combination of both.
Strength is by far the most important stat. It affects autoattack damage, Combat Art Damage, and is our primary stat so therefore also affects our power pool. Agility is also a good stat, as it boosts our avoidance. Stamina is Hit Points, and high hit points is always good.
As you approach higher levels, for DPS you want to look for Melee Crit gear first and foremost, but also try for one good haste item, DPS modifiers, and Double Attack. For Defense, it is fairly easy to get alot of + defense gear, as it is more common that +parry and +deflection, but definetley be on the look out for +parry, becuase Parry is your best friend. Ripostes comes from Parry, and Ripostes can give us stoneskin at higher levels.

Re: New Bruiser here - tips?
Wow, fantastic piece of information there, thank you very much! I'm glad I asked; I think I was thinking back on EQ1 and focusing on agility more than anything. I'll have to adjust that. And my sister in law tradeskills EVERYTHING, so I'm lucky enough to get stuff from her. :D
And yep, I had to play a girly weak class as a bruiser; it's just... wierd!
(And thank you for the compliment on my sig; I made it m'self!) ;)

Re: New Bruiser here - tips?
Please allow me to semi-hijack this thread and ask a few related questions of my own...
Is T8 crafted gear worth anything for bruisers? I have a 71 Bruiser now. The melodic crafted stuff was awesome for my Assassin, just wondering if there's anything as good for brawlers.
I see there's 2 choices among leather crafted T8, one with high STR and AGI, and one with lower stats but with STA as well. Which would be better? Or a combination of the two?

Ignore this statement by Crabbok.... he is still unable to come to terms with getting raped by a Female Gnome Bruiser.... It takes time...

Unless you have T7 raid gear the master crafted set is a must have for brawlers. There is almost no quest gear for bruisers in RoK so save your plat and buy a set as soon as you hit 72.

Okay cool. Should I get the set with the STA or the one with just STR and AGI?

Only tip I have for new bruisers is to betray if you plan on raiding. Nuff said.
