Default Soak hit

Can someone please explain how this end AA ability works?

I am gonna respec soon and thought this might be a useful ability for dpsing in groups as I intercede the tank quite a bit when his Hp's get below 50%.

It seems that it gives u a temp mit buff when another fighters intercedes you. Which would only make it useful when tanking.

I tried it, i have intercede M1, but i ended up thiking it wasn't that useful.
And in raids.... forget about this. Especially if you pop it on the MT when he's in the red. You will intercept the 2 next attacks and... :D ....die. Better have altruism on your tank than the intercede. If you have both, it would be a shame to die before him and remove the Altruism he have on.
In groups it might help a little, but you better have a lot HPs, yet again, it is not necessary. If a plate tank is having a hard time tanking heroic content with a group... (exept if you run RE2 with pick ups) then the intercede will not make the difference.

I used to try it this way:

if you are tanking, and specced for soak hit, have another fighter in the raid throw intercede on you and then back up. Intercede will be up for about a minute. Pull the mob.... now as the ability reads, you get 10% damage reduction when you have a fighter's intervene ability on you.... So their ability is on you... however you tell them to stand back and be out of range of it actually taking the hit. This way you'd get the extra damage absorbtion for the duration of the intercede.

Now I dunno if it actually works like that, but I used to try it... never did the math to test it though.

I find intercede in heroic groups gives the healer a bit more time to get them heals off and it does help, and isnt that big of a deal since bruisers self heal every 1.5 min, less with the agi line.

It isnt that big of a deal, but honestly with the AA mirror and a dps spec, after you get knock outs maxed and the deaggro buff, the heal, there really isnt a whole lot left to get in your EOF tree.

Soak hit is crap. It is another one of those things SoE could fix to give us some decent utility in raids but they won't do it. It would be halfway decent if it absorbed 80% or 90% of the damage so you could actually save the tank without going "Splat" dead.

No SPLAT in '08

Just remember one thing about that line and that is the name of it. "Sacrifice" ing your life is what you will be doing. I died so many times using this line it isn't funny. Recasts are great but that is what was getting me killed so fast. I used that line for a while and I said enough!!! Sacrifice is the one line that "to me" needed rethinking.

It would be a nice utility line for a bruiser if the aa's actually allowed the bruiser to receive a 20% damage absorbtion. Why does the target of intercede need 9% more absorbtion when that is what the masters does to being with? Am I wrong for thinking that way?

The line has potential.

Only put AAs into the first and use that one.

Use Intervene or Intercept if you haven't got the hit points to take a big hit. Unlike Intercede these abilities do not transfer 100% of the damage to you.
