And I like to put the 77 vs. C/P/S on my wrist, I say this in almost all my posts, but avoidance is overrated for brawlers... without many avoidance adorns, I can get 85% avoidance alone... and I don't have the best gear... I'm sure you could get higher if you REALLY wanted to, but forgetaboutit... Anyways, I go for mit whenever I can, and wherever I can.

The reason that raid bruisers say get the 3% parry is because its uncontested, and therefore means something VS epic mobs. 6% uncontested parry = about 40% contested deflection vs orange epics. Doesn't matter if your avoidance hits 85%, if its not uncontested, most epics will beat the crap outta ya.
