Some folks have asked me about ACT Triggers, For those who don't know how to add a trigger to ACT, do so from the Triggers/Sounds Tab from within ACT. in the white box next to REGULAR EXPRESSION, you add your trigger, and in the box above it you choose your sound. When finished hit the Add/Edit button and your done.
First off for timing auto attacks, I use triggers to indicate both hits and misses. Not everyone wants a sound, but I do, and here is what I use.
.*?YOU(?: critically)? hit.*
This is for autoattacks that land. I use a short wave file that sounds like a desk bell.
.*?YOU try to crush.*
.*?YOU try to slash.*
.*?YOU try to pierce.*
Each on a separate line, these are autoattack misses. I use a slightly different wav file, just to give me an audible referrence to my hit vs miss ratio.
.*Your target is too far.*
.*You cannot see your target.*
Useful for reminding you that you are out of Auto-Attack range. I use a TTS saying "Too Far".
.*You feel inspired by the Jester.*
This is the emote for when you get Jester's Cap. I don't trust troub macro's, i'd rather go off of when the game is really telling me. I use a TTS saying "You have Jesters Cap".
.*'s Dispatch(?: critically)? hits .* for .* slashing damage.*
This lets you know a mob has been dispatched. Good time to toss up Desolating Fist and Gut Punch. I use TTS saying Dispatch.
.*?YOUR Dire Consequences(?: critically)? hits.*
If you use Signet of Betrayal, it's nice to have reminders when it procs so you can de-aggro if you like. I use TTS saying Betrayal, so that someday when I actually GET this freakin item i'll have a trigger for it!
.*?YOU(?: critically)? flurry.*
Not a very important one, but nice to see how often you proc flurry when a dirge is nice enough to buff you. I use TTS saying Flurry.
.*You have fallen to the ground.*
When feign death fails. TTS saying Fail.
.*Tankname, but YOU.*
Substitue the word Tankname for your guild's Main Tank, or Offtank or whoever you use Shake Off on. This Macro lets you know when you have avoided an attack for your target. I use it for jousting fights to ensure that I stay within range of Shake Off. I actually have to set up a separate version of this trigger for each person I plan to use Shake off on, and have the TTS read "Tankname Block".
If you want to set up triggers for bard abilities like CoB and PoM, you'll have to do it based on what their individual macro says in group or raid, because I've scanned logs and there is no entry for the buff starting.
