Well I did some playing around on test last night and it won't be quite so easy to get our desired appearance weapon. When it was first said that the weapons had to be the same type I thought that simply meant crushing, but it's not that simple.
If your using a a "Fists" weapon the appearance item must be fists also. If your using a hammer, the appearance must match to also be a hammer, so on and so forth. Thats kinda going to suck for us because there are so very few appearance options for "fists" weapons.
I saw on the test update notes for yesturday that Brawlers are getting a Void shard weapon. I don't have toon on test and was wondering if you guys that do can share some info on it?

We've relaxed the restrictions on the appearance slots a bit. However, this change won't show up on Test for a day or two. Now we only require that the wield style match (one-handed, two-handed, shield).
So for example, a Warlock wielding his Mythical piercing weapon would be able to instead replace this with another one-handed weapon type that isn't a dagger. A warrior using a sword and shield will not be able to use a two-handed great axe in the appearance slot but would be able to replace their shield with any other type of shield.
I always liked the way 2 batons looked as far as fighting style goes but there were never any really cool looking batons. Even the "good" ones were just sticks. Though actually I recall one i had on my old pve bruiser. It had a rainbow glowy effect which sounds homo but it was actually pretty nice.
Wonder how much of soulfire you could solo these days. I'm also thinking of the marr fist which i thought looked pretty cool. Though i know that involves raids and not really sure how hard those raids would be now days.
I'd also like to point out how sad it is that nobody has mentioned anything like "yay now i get to keep my cool epic graphic forevers!!!" probably because our epic is so shitty looking. =/ And i think one of the only epics you can't see unless you're in combat.

The weapon and ranged for void shards is crap. You are better off just running a few dozen instances and getting the baby nightmare wraps from Guk1, the offhander from RoK COA, or some other decent offhand.
