Hey guys,
First time posting (other than for a VP raid). Nice to meet you!
Just needing feedback and understanding on Signet of Betrayal and Jewel of Anamosity.
I picked up the jewel last Sunday, and I notice an improvement in DPS. My % overall damage for crush went up about 10%, but the side effect sure does hurt. Just wanting to know how others think of this ring. As long as I'm not in mega AOE boss fights, I've been keeping the ring on.
Also, Signet of Betrayal. My raid alliance defaulted to the Paladin MT uncontested. I didn't mind if the tanked rolled on it, but uncontested struck a chord with me. I don't see how it's a tanking ring, to be honest, and it's been argued with me that it's the best until a TSO upgrade. Help me with this one.
It has Aggression +6 and procs 1k-ish, but it also reduces threat by over 3k and at the same time (or in the order of things) increases threat by over 2k. That, to me, is an overall threat reduction. The Aggression +6 trumps that?
I'm told that if the MT is #1 on hate list, he/she will drop to #2. And if on the #2, the tank will raise to #1. The latter also makes no sense since both threat procs say "top of the hate list", so it would have to be on their own merit then to get back to #1.
Couple this with a Paladin's amends is what I'm told makes this ring awesome for Paladins because then they wouldn't lose hate.
But the off-tank is still pulling hate off of our MT. Then I'm pulling hate in tank spec (Bruising stance but with Jewel) in the dps group, and I'm #2-4 on the parse (ave. 4~5k a fight, 3.5k zone-wide with tank ave. 2.5k a fight).
I feel this is better for off-tanks followed by scouts/DPS followed by mages. I primarly play as full-on DPS spec (STR48802, AGI48802, INT488, knockouts, and all offensive TSO) and find the Signet to be an awesome addition.
This is only my 2nd time in SoH and new to the EQ2 raiding community, so I'm ready to hear where I'm wrong in my thinking.
Thanks,
Sudden
