Re: Solo Shard Flopping
Well, since I started flopping shards last week this is what I have experienced (thanks to the suggestions after my original post). However, I have to say that I am probably below average in gear and ability as a bruiser so your mileage will vary (probably improve).
Befallen: Cavern of the Afflicted
Chest: Key drops off “a thieving jesterling”, 29, -64, -137 (Armory). He is tiny on the left side of the room. Just run in, fd next to the left wall, then stand and kill the little guy (about the size of a brownie). After getting the key, run to the room with The Bonegrinder. The chest is on the left (no agro to stand next to the chest).
2 Easy Shard Quests: Restoring the Might (click on 6 statutes), and Gathering the Fallen (click on bones throughout the zone)
Befallen: Halls of the Forsaken
Chest: Apparently have to kill a named mob or something to get the key so I couldn’t do it.
Easy Shard Quest: Finding Salvation (use Symbol from quest to click on non-aggro ghosts throughout the zone).
The Deep Forge
Chest: Key drops off “a spurned alumnus” (solo mob), which is in the first room to the right. I just run and fd along the right wall. Should be able to stand and kill the mob without agro but watch for the patrolling guy in the hallway. Chest is to the left of Firelord Kaern in the lava room. However, you have to drop the lava curtain to get there by first going to the first room on the left (from the entrance) and click on the pillars in the right order (I don’t recall the order offhand).
Easy Shard Quest: Cold Heat (click on small bronze idols throughout the zone). Locs are: (27, -6, 5 ) (129, 0, -73 ) (110, 1, 9 ) (14, 0, -51 ) (-129, 0, -41 ) (-13, 0, -250 ) (-105, 0, 21 ) (-20, -11, -157). The last one is in the lava pit by Firelord Kaern. Just have to turn both of the valves at the either end of the room (from max distance just time your fd and click).
Evernight Abbey
Chest: I found the key mob (an enraged Libant weard) in the jail area but hear he can be anywhere. He was very tough for me, but like I said I am below average geared. I also had to agro the roaming mobs to get them to stand still and out of agro range of the key mob. The chest is in one of the rooms in the bottom floor by Lord Marcus Thex. It was tricky clicking on the orb to get through the magical barrier to get to the bottom floor, but if I can do it, anyone can.
Shard Quest: Six Cense (use the Thurible given to you and click it in just about every room in the zone). The quest Hidden Agenda may be possible (pick up pages scattered throughout the zone) but I died too much since the pages are next to a lot of mobs.
The Crucible
Shard Quest: Picking up the Shards (small black bricks). I grab the three in the Reflection of Exile Room (first big room with mobs), (36, 0, 4), (54, 2, 5), and (-114, 0, 37). I then go to the first room on the right off of the Exile Room with the bears and grab 2. I then zone out, wait for the 30 minute timer to expire and repeat.
Chest: The key mob is a flying book (on the ground) in the library (first room on the left off of Exile Room) but it is a 3 arrow mob so I didn’t even try it.
