great guide, ill be running these this weekend since im in need of shards (i didn't get any shard armor, just went for the raid stuff from VP and TSO) so now that id like a few pieces from the X2 its gonna cost me a shit-ton of shards.

I didn't see you mention Mystmore Manor, this one is way easy. in the library there is a book close to where the red mob starts his pathing (he depops and always re pops at that same place) you gather the book and it turns into a really easy mob, its like 82^ or something like that, and this is the key mob. then just go to the room where you mess up the papers to deactivate the secretary and you will see you box (it dosent show up until you have the key).

there are also a few of the DD shard quests that you can solo, make sure you check those before you go.

Thanks Loche. I will run Mistmyr Manor tonight and then edit my first post (assuming I succeed!).

I have tried the shard quest in Mistmyr where you pick up the fire boxes but the boxes were too close to multiple mobs that beat me down quickly. I just spent about 30+ shards on new gear so maybe that will help.

Just a reminder cuz I didn't see it mentioned here. If you cast Chi before you try to activate pillars in DF it goes much faster.

im not sure how casting chi helps activate the pillars, please explain...

as as for the pillars, i can easily get them all with no aggro except for front right....i can still get if i use myth clicky, or if i just kill all the hammers at the far right pillar, but that takes time, (and using the clicky means its less likely to be up when i wanna harvest a glowie....so yea of anyone could tell me how to get the right front pillar with out getting any agro that would be cool.

one more quick thing about MM....if you deactivate the librarian (like you did when you were farming the boxes) then you can just pull the book up to that landing, and i've never gotten any agro standing there (but i do kill it kinda fast, so who knows).

It makes the progress bar of clicking the pillars move twice as fast. With Chi you can FD into position and then stand up click the pillar so fast that you can FD back down without ever getting hit by a mob.

Anybody had a problem with The deep forge mob that drops the key? Last few times I have been in the zone A Spurned Alumnus was not there. The zone is reset so I cant figure it out...

no sorry since i figured out how easy it is to click the pillars (the hammers arnt up if you don't agro the named, makes it MUCH easier) i've run that place about once a day and never had the key mob not be up.

Btw im in desperate need of shards, and don't have time to actually run instances....i really want to get those warden t2 shoulders, but every time i get close to enough shards i win a vampiric pattern from a raid zone, or i get a mold from the x2 so i end up getting those made instead. so if anyone knows of any other zones i can do over my lunch hour, or has a list of any more missions or DD missions please post them.

Let me see if I can explain how I get that pillar. If you stand close to the pillar on your right (pillar 2) and about a step from the wall, you should be able to inch forward without agro. If you do get agro from the center mobs when you are as far away from the center pillar as possible and still click it, when you fd you should be able to stand and not get agro.

Another way is to get agro from the center mobs, wait until they get close to you and then fd. As you fd, immediately hit x to stand and click the pillar. It takes time for those mobs to reset and get agro again. Long after you are done clicking the pillar.

As to agro from the hammers. Don't agro the named and they should not be up. If you are doing the idol quest, don't pop the hammers until you are done clicking all 5 pillars.

As to MM, I need to read up on how to deagro the librarian guy. Thanks for that suggestion.

When I was doing the Librarian, this is what I did. Threw her on the desk, took off her... nevermind.

I ran to where the book is and FD'd. Let the Librarian path past me and down the stairs and then pop the book. Then dps said book. If the Librarian shows up, I hit the Bruiser Tsunami. Book is dead. FD. Collect key.

Done.
