I'm not certain the exact number, but I believe riposte damage is supposed to be roughly 15% of an autoattack, in terms of damage.
Naw i dont care about the damage i meant back when it made riposte chance higher it was better for us since it would make our bruiser AA proc stone skin more.

That same AA btw increases our riposte damage by 35% i think.

Yeah I remember that. It was an obvious choice, but that version never made it out of beta, shame too.

My comments about the damage were directed at this guy -

What does minimum deflection chance mean? Is it the minimum of deflection against every mob in the game?

Ah, and connected to this thoughts, how can I see what's my deflection/avoidance chance against those Ykesha-Mobs at Lvl 86-88.
I got an avoidance (first stat on the second window of personae) of 88,7%, but I'm not sure if thats my overall avoidance against every mobs or just against mobs on my own lvl 80...

Would by nice, if anyone could explain in an understandable way.

I got an avoidance (first stat on the second window of personae) of 88,7%, but I'm not sure if thats my overall avoidance against every mobs or just against mobs on my own lvl 80... That is only your avoidance to a lvl 80 solo npc without any +to hit (accuracy, melee skills). Generally a solo lvl 80 outdoor nonnamed trash mob without any up or down arrows.

Would by nice, if anyone could explain in an understandable way.
What you see in your personae window is generally useless information regarding avoidance. The minimum deflection % is more accurate but even that is slightly reduced with higher level npc's.
I will try....
What you see in your personae window is ALWAYS vs lvl 80 npcs.
Furthermore what you see can be CONTESTED by +to hit (accuracy, or + melee skills the npc may have) and by level.
Dodge (agi, defense, base), parry, and deflection is contested.

There is a portion of deflection that is uncontested called MINIMUM DEFLECTION. You gain this by your defensive stance 16%+6% from aversion AA for 22%. You gain this on your mythical (5% minimum deflection chance). 27% This is ALL the base minimum deflection we get.

Minimum deflection (all Uncontested avoidance but let us focus on minimum deflection for now) is not contested vs + to hit npc's have. It is only reduced by npc level. So high level EPIC, named, even heroic npcs have ALOT of + to hit which substantially reduces your avoidance, but not your MINIMUM deflection since that can ONLY be reduced by LEVEL. There is no way currently in game to check to see an NPC's + to hit.

FURTHERMORE there is another statistic called DEFLECTION CHANCE. You get this from the tso AA deflecting blow 6%, the bruiser AA claw reversal 16%, TSO set shoulders (8% for raid t4 shoulders), the avatar Wu's bp proc and random other items throughout game such as the darkmail guants. This statistic increases your deflection by a % portion, but it ALSO increases your minimum deflection. Let's say all you have is deflection blow AA 6% and Claw reversal 16% for 22% deflection chance with a base 27% MINIMUM deflection from epic and defensive stance. You will have 32.9% minimum deflection. This is still reduced SLIGHTLY by level, but only level.

Edit: Minimum deflection is only truly effective when an NPC reduces your deflection % below your minimum deflection chance. There is no exact way of knowing when it works, but it is safe to assume most epics and high level heroic named are were you make the most use of Minimum deflection. If you solo or rarely tank heroic content. I would not necessarily worry about Minimum deflection.

part 2.....
While your MINIMUM DEFLECTION is your only uncontested DEFLECTION. There is still portions of avoidance in game that is also uncontested like MINIMUM DEFLECTION.

Certain items/abilities have uncontested avoidance. Augments and items that have parry%, riposte%, and dodge% are directly added to your avoidance and are NOT reduced by + to hit (accuracy or +melee skills). You can consider the above % part of your overall minimum avoidance but in a more convoluted way. You can not just add all MINIMUM avoidance and say that is your minimum avoidance. Avoidance is calculated in a set formula. Where avoidance is checked in steps.
parry>deflection>dodge(agi/defense/base). I think that is enough confusion for you for now. There is other bullshit i can discuss like tsunami type abilities, strikethrough, avoidance caps (70%), riposte and the fighter avoidance buff, but for now I will try not to confuse you further.

Edit: base dodge is determined by your classes Armour type (leather for us)

Each check is capped at 70%.
This number is found on the dev qoutes and patch notes. As well as the monk avoid ability. Unless you use an ability like impenetrable will. At no point will you raise your minimum deflection beyond 70%. In fact on beta impenetrable will was capped at 70% until we did some bitching to make it 100%.

Ok so each check is 70%, not your overall Avoidance then. Makes sense.

So basicly, if you have 70% Deflection, 70% parry, and 70% dodge, you'd have more than 70% avoidance, you'd actually have 97.3% avoidance... of course that'd be vs a lvl 80 mob.

I can't say for sure although the personae seems to suggest that. Since I have had 90% + avoidance before.

yeah, it's hard to know all of the exact math for avoidance, especially when the game doens't give you a formula for mobs higher than 80. I guess they don't want it to be a math problem, and want to keep a little bit of mystery in there.
