Of course you would, but this is completely consistent with what blanka said. When you previously would have riposted, you instead parry when the mob is behind you. This is very different from adding x% riposte as x% to your parry chance however. Only 20% of your parries (normalized to 3 sec delay apparently /wow) are converted to ripostes. So adding x% to your parry chance makes no sense if the desired result is x% more ripostes. Thus, there must be a separate check for uncontested ripostes. But if there are two separate checks, then as my previous post explained, you would be double dipping if you added the x% to the parry chance too, and the devs did not tard out and add this particular bug to the game.

OK, some pictures.

Here is me naked, notice 5% parry is all I have.

OK up next is me naked except a +parry cloak. Notice how pary goes up, but not base avoid.

Now I will take off the parry cloak and get naked again but now add the +riposte gi.

You'll notice that base avoidance went up not parry. Hopefully this pictures were enough to convince you. If I was naked and hit tsunami my base avoidance would go up to 100% however my parry would stay at 5%.

Honestly? Who the fuck cares if the game looks at Tsunami and says "Ok the mob is in front, so I'm gonna make this guy parry, and I'm going to alter his riposte portion of parry to make him turn that parry into a riposte. Or, if the game just says"ok he's going to just outright riposte because the mob is in front"..... really, we all know how it works.

If we can't let this rest i'm gonna have to come up with a project to keep everyone busy.

We are just trying to help the guy. His idea of things makes sense and if it actually worked that way great, but it doesn't, my guess is when he finally gets it others confused like him will get it too.

I used the RE cloak since it only has parry on it and no agi or defensive stats it was best suited. The riposte gi does have 20 agi on it though which would bring up defense a little but not 5.5%

Agreed on the gi...

I think my UI is fine, then. I don't have any items that matches the cloak's wording of "+x Extra Parry Chance" (just "+x Parry" which seems to just add to Base Avoidance), but matching that up with "+x Extra Riposte Chance" would have added to Parry, too, in my world. Since it doesn't, you've helped me clearly see your point. I'm now just baffled as to why it works this way and let it be.

So finally, my question is about that section in Persona (the Avoidance, Base Avoidance, Block, Deflection, Parry). Other than Avoidance and Base Avoidance, is the rest uncontested?
