Even if they merged defense and parry it wouldnt mean a whole lot during epic fights since we rarely "dodge". The only real avoidance measurement that count when fighting an NPC with that much offensive skill is uncontested avoidance. For defense/dodge that is only really obtainable through our mythical. On the other hand it would suck for heroic content.

LOL wut, I dodged 10% on my last Ykesha tank that is alot if you consider how avoid works.

bruisers dodge more cause our myth is the only real avoidance. Bruisers know the 5 D's of Avoidance. Dodge, Duck Dip Dive and Dodge.

I am not saying your wrong but i will be surprised if it was really that high. Not only is defense the worst of all avoidance stats. It is the last individual check applied. It is the only poor man's avoidance that every class gets. There is also very few uncontested defense/dodge items out there. I would love to see that avoidance report.

If the hit was avoided by defense (base avoidance), it's missed in log. If the hit is dodged in log, it's the uncontested avoidance from food/drink, gear and life saving tools such as the 100% dodge from bruiser mythical or bob and weave (monk).

Bah your correct I keep forgetting dodge does not equal defense. Anyway Defense or "missed" is the shittiest of all avoidance checks.

Actually it is just as effective as any other avoidance checks. The problem is you can get uncontested defense the way you can get it on deflect parry and dodge.
