Default Can we raid tank? definitly, but what !?

OK,
We "had" a parse thread cause we can dps, but i was wondering what you guys and gals can tank.
I would like to add that it's not a e-peen thread reserved for avatar killing chars, and i welcome EVERYONE that tank raiding targets to post in it, simply because i'd like to know what you are able to tank with WHICH gear.
So it's fine if you have V2 gear and tank raiding content with it, i'm curious how the balance between gear/tanking curve in tso looks like.
Feel free to add infos like your avoidance and group setup or other specific infos.
I was wondering that the other day when killing Ykesha and i definitly sucked on keeping aggro on the poped encounter that after 12secs(D&C) if not killed yet goes killing everyone.
Could i tank Ykesha instead? With how many healers? In which stance ?
Only T8 raid mobs please.

I don't tank much, but recently have been tanking a little more.

Tanked Gynok with 2 healers, and been offtank on Ykesha, but haven't done anything harder than that yet...

You would probably have a better chance on Ykesha then on the adds. We actually do extremely well when geared up for tanking, next time have them let you tank Ykesha.

I havnt been able to progress as far as other guilds have, but I have tanked every raid name that we have progressed to so far.

Includes, First name in YIS, First in Palace and First 3 in TOMC.

I had 84% avoidence, 65% mit, and 60% crit mit (with warden).

The group setup I cannot rememebr as it was a week and a half ago and i just recently switched servers. I have also tanked every TSO zone out there if that counts for anything. The fact that we can heal outselfs to 52% of our life and have Impenetrable will + myth + our own wards can make us tank fairly well i'd say.

If I remember correctly I think my group was me + dirge + coercer + warden + mystic + templar. While I was tanking my life never went beflow 80% cept for a couple of times, and if it did I would just throw up a heal myself or hit impenetrable will.

I hardly ever get to tank or off tank in raids. Our guild uses a Guardian MT and SK and Pally OT. Basically if one of the OT's doesn't show up I get my chance. Hardest thing I have tanked was Strange Stalkers add.

Basically that's the thing and the point of the question here since my raid leader staff also rather use any plate tank to actually tank the phat mobs instead of a brawler, and i get to replace them when they are missing. So the who you tank with what isn't as obvious as if it was asked in the guards or SK forum.

So far i tanked Xebnok with 2 healers without any difficulties, Gynok i never tried but i believe it would be quite fine considering his death touch gets absorbed by stone deaf.
In palace i just tanked the adds of penta/ulta, adds of Anashti that beats like hell...
in Ykesha i tanked the assassin on ykesha's encounter without much issues, 2 healers and a dirge.
Zarrakon, well... i never fought him without getting to tank the adds OR zarrak himself which was also quite a cool experience (especially with 3 groups).

In the end i noticed a hudge difference of difficulties between the mobs that do physical AE and those who don't. Mynzak always a funny dps fight to me, however the mob up the stairs (can't remember the name..thytus?) is a pain whenever he drops his physical AE.
Anyone tanked an avatar ?

Keep sharing your experiences please.

Sounds like you and I tank similar mobs. Aside of Gynok we do basically the same thing. I'm pretty confident that we CAN tank everything in game, and for the most part it's just a question of gear. Plate tanks have a clear advantage in that they can tank most content with less gear, so they are the obvious choice when breaking into a new expansion.

I'm hoping they bridge that gap.

People just need more confidence on brawler tanking.

I have done main tanking and off tanking every instance named in our progression. I have also done main tanking growth, hate, war, tranquility, storm and off tanking all avatars with 2 healers.

In my experience, brawlers are better than plate tanks in some encounters, for example, gynok, penta/ulta, etc.. I have even done main and off tanking gynok with 1 healer and stay alive.

The difference between brawler and plate tank is how to deal with spike damage. We need to use our life saving tools smartly.

Brawlers can definitely tank raid targets in TSO. In some encounters, plate tanks are better and in some encounters, brawlers are better.

Since when did we start running uncontested avoid through the avoid checks jackass? Are you making up new rules now? Uncontested avoid has ALWAYS been the total added up.

Yeah we talked about that yesterday. End game gear brawlers really don't have as big of issues tanking stuff it is like this every expansion we start slow finish strong. They really should do something about that. Anyways here is me tanking flame the other day as you can see I only spike once.

YouTube - FLAME

Brawlers can pretty much tank anything once you get the gear, I have tanked everything. I don't normally tank or care about tanking we have two good plate tanks that fill that role fine but when called upon I can do the role.

Let's put tank aside, healers are also important. Without good healers, tank won't stay alive no matter which tank you are.

It's harder to heal brawlers up especially when brawlers are not well geared but as long as brawlers didn't get one shot, good healers can keep brawlers up.

Sometimes, the tank got owned is the problem of incompetent healers instead of tank.
