Now if level 90 gear is going to follow that same progression, and loot will be BETTER than lvl 80 gear, there would be absolutely no need for gear decay, (Especially since with this most recent avatar nerf, Sony is willing and able to nerf certain key items they feel are overpowered).
It's logical to conclude that lvl 90 gear will NOT follow the natural progression in gear that we have always seen. I conclude that either lvl 90 gear is going to be "weaker" than lvl 80 gear in an overall sense, or there is some new mechanic in the works that will completely change the game up in a way I cannot forsee.

Its only logical to conclude that for a select few stats. That is the issue. Avatar nerfs only effect reletively few items people use even for the people who normally use avatar gear. And gear degradation only effects most % based effects. The damage rating on weapons, + combat art damage, the upgrading of proc dam, and the way % based effects work on ever increasing static values will ultimately mean that lvl 90 items will be more powerful. Bottom line is every single player in this game will do more dps at 90 then 80 vs lvl 80 and 90 content. So to sit here and say that we are stronger at 80 then 90 is beyond moronic. It is one of the dumbest arguments a person can make. Even if you try to make the statement relative to your current level. You still loose because only a very tiny % of what makes a character stronger is based on the % based effects in gear degradation. This isn't even an argument against gear degradation this is complete horsecrap akin to death panels and healthcare reform.
