Default ACt ver 3 problems, But ver 2 works fine

Hi looking for some help ,I ended up reinstalling ACT ver 2 because it works fine for me. I tried the newer ver 3 and it just seems to lag out after a time, takes a while when soloing but quicker in group and heroic zones. What it does is as time goes on the triggers like auto attack sounds and the parsing it posts in mini window get slower and slower, Eq2 itself is fine computer isn't lagging just act, I have tried different settings in act as far as the performance wizard ect. Disabled virus programs and security programs. I got plenty of memory disk space and a I5 intel quad4 processor. Has to be something act v3 doesnt like about my computer(running win 7) Anyone have any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have asked others in game but no help so far

I'm having exactly the same problem. It's like ACT just starts using more and more of the CPU until the whole PC starts lagging horribly. I'm windows 8 on a new build. Perhaps I'll try going back to v2.

Purely anecdotal, but it seems like the way ACTv3 draws GUI elements is less optimal than v2 was. After a bunch of encounters start builing up, it can take multiple seconds for the spell timers window to draw properly for example: you can literally watch it draw in the individual boxes one by one and then go back and fill them in with the various fields when it gets to that point. It's only ACT that I've seen slow down, it doesn't seem to really affect the rest of the computer, but I don't watch the rest that much (and only really notice it on the spell timers window slowdown, so unless I'm adding/editing a timer late in the night I don't notice it).

What might help the symptoms is to close and reopen ACT once it's starts slowing down, that should clear the encounters and memory. I use Win 7 as well, maybe it's a compatibility issue with the .NET included with 7 vs what you'd normally download on older versions.
