    Default 2 second delay in custom triggers

    I have several custom triggers for EQ2 including the custom trigger for the ranger Exploit Weakness. I am experiencing a 2 second dely from the time the trigger should go off and when i get the notification. This happens whether I am running EQ2 or not. When I try the TTS for Exploit Weakness and press the play button, it still is delayed by 2 seconds as is any other trigger I have. If I try just using a beep, it works perfectly with no delay.

    Below is the entry for my exploit weakness trigger from my .xml file.

    <Trigger Active="False" Regex="You can see a weakness" SoundData="Weakness" SoundType="3" CategoryRestrict="False" Category="Predator" Timer="False" TimerName="" Tabbed="False" />

    Any help here would be great.

    So... you're saying that there is something wrong with the TTS engine? Or possibly the default sound engine.

    Try going into the Options -> Sound Settings and selecting "Use Windows API Sound" and test TTS using that. If that works, there might be something odd about your Windows Media Player installation that causes the large lag. If it doesn't work, there may be something odd about your TTS setup that is instead causing the delay there.

    You can find alternative sound engines for ACT here:

    Switching it to Windows API Sound fixed it and now I can at least use the weakness trigger. No lag at all.

    I might try a fresh install/upgrade of windows media player, but for now, life is good.

    Thank you.

    Just be aware of the listed limitations of the Windows API sound provider.

    The two plugins above are probably an easier route than trying to figure out why the WMP sound engine doesn't work right.
