Default Testing Windows 7, ACT sound doesnt work

Hi guys,

first off thanks for a superb program! Wouldn't live without it!

I am beta testing Windows 7. So far it is the single best OS Microsoft has ever made. Even in beta it runs better than both XP and Vista, LOL

How ever, it doesn't recognize my soundcard. I get the following exception:

************** Exception Text **************
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.DirectX, Version=1.0.2902.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'Microsoft.DirectX, Version=1.0.2902.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'
at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.DevicesCollection..c tor()
at Advanced_Combat_Tracker.FormActMain.btnAudioDevice _Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

It seems due to the OS or is it the soundcard driver?

Thanks in advance

Fouk

It's somewhat strange for the error to appear then, when you click the button, instead of failing on loadup and disabling the button.

I would suggest either disabling DirectSound... although it appears using the selector button causes an error. Or installing the latest DirectX libraries.
Download details: DirectX Redist (November 2008)
