Default E:\window.old Issue

Hi for some reason I can't get ACT to run in my fresh install of Windows 7. When I go to enter the log information from the Setup Wizard in ACT..I select log then I get a message saying is " E:\windows.old\program files (x86)\Sony\Everquest II " the log file etc..etc..I select no because I never heard of the windows.old file. So I manually input the log from E:\program files (x86)\Sony\Everquest II. I went through the wizard nothing seem to happen, I assumed the log was good because it said it found it. I closed the wizard. I started combat, and no parse. I went back there was no log again. I fired up the wizard asked me the same thing about this "windows.old" folder. I have no idea what that is I formatted my PC ran disk clean and all..anything old should have been deleted. I did a search couldn't find it either. I tried everything I could think of. Yes the UAC is disabled too. I'm out of ideas..I'm usually good at figuring these things out. Any help would be appreciative thanks!

OS: Windows 7, 64bit Ultimate.

Well, the Startup Wizard generally checks the registry for EQ2's location. Apparently that above path is what it found. Though it doesn't actually check for its existence until you hit OK.

Why your registry references things that don't exist is beyond me. It checks HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\EverQuest2.exe or LaunchPad.exe if you care.

Check the Log File section in the About tab to see what file it currently has open and if the log file position changes when things happen in the game that should change the log size.

Interesting I went to the about section as you mentioned Aditu. I manually just uploaded the correct logging information there..it worked. I tried to do it through the Wizard again..same issue occurred..however I guess the solution at the moment is just to do it manually through the about section. Thanks again..I'll fiddle around with it more..to see what this "windows.old" file is..
