A tank dieing on almost any mob that he maintains aggro on and uses a few of his buffs at the right time is 90% of the time a Healers Fault. Don't know who this tank is, but reputation goes out the window when you get rid of the toon.

^ ya because your reputation skyrockets when people find out you just bought your toon.

idk, personally don't think this matters too much. The guild should do a little backround check on someone and get a feel for their commitment, but whats the difference between waiting one or two months, or sooner? I guess you think if you get some time out of the person then they are more deserving, but I look at it this way - if they're gonna leave, the sooner the better. This way you can get someone else in sooner. Flagged for vp or a couple masters? big deal, nobody will care about vp access (or t8 masters?) in a few months any way.

i don't think this holds true at all. I was in Aftermath for more then a year and a half and put my time in and they still said "fuck you" when i left. so no, time doesn't make it ok to leave i guess. Heaven forbid people leave a game GASP!!

this comment is way off base, you didnt leave the game, you left the guild for another one, there is just a slight minuscule difference, not saying your choice was wrong, or that you werent doing what you thought was best for you, but quitting the game and selling your char is different than leaving a guild to go to npu, even if you did sell your char after that

i dunno what selling your toon eventually has to do with it, but regardless, i'm surprised anybody hates you. you were pretty filthy dps and it sucked you left, but shit happens.

i can say i miss .. oh i dunno, spon, ipum, mallard, buffie, more than i miss you ;>

but that's not hate!

edit: whether people hate you or not probably has more to do with you personally than how or why you left, if anybody hates you at all <3

I can see this, and the whole "the healers are fucking up" being applicable with the stipulation: good tank.

But, why aim low? There's no limit on how bad you can be at this game. I can think of at least a dozen ways a tank can blow himself up even with great healers to juggle his hp. Hell I've watched at least that many happen in front of me. To quote shag one time, long ago: "what do you mean you jugged on the pull?"

I'm not passing a judgment on whether or not this guy actually sucked, though I am amused at the implication that could go with "good reputation" - such as: when you buy this toon and take over, no one will know the difference.

Responses to him, though, suggest a player who wasn't motivated to improve himself under his own steam. That would indeed be a tank who would be able to blow himself up on trash despite healer's best efforts.

His guildmate says he joined with App IVs & Adept Is and was given loams. Aside from the point that I wouldn't think to app to a raid guild without having first upgraded my CAs, does anyone actually bother with App IV's and Adept Is for T8? If you at least had your T7 A3s, for melee, they'd be a downgrade.

So, I read it as: folks gave me a chance, I leeched, got bored and bailed.

On the bright side, I'm sure the farmer who buys the account will be happy to have a towtruck for his 5 mages on carpets.
