RL threats and beatings

The Defiance thread up there with the guy's "I'LL KILL YOU IF I FIND YOU" bio reminded me of this -

A while back there was a thread posted on the EQ2 forums about someone from Butcherblock going to another player's house and beating them up.

I can't remember if the names went unposted for the sake of discretion or if they went unposted due to the 'no naming' policy on the EQ2 forums.

If they went unposted for the first, my apologies for bringing the topic up again. If it was the EQ2 forum rules though, I want to hear what the heck happened!

Someone had ninja looted or ks'd a mob and the guy went over to their house and knocked 'em around.

I'm pretty sure it was a 3rd party account of the story and mod'd due to the nature of the claim. IIRC the OP was trying to point out to people that it was just a game, relax. But in the responses you saw how angry some people get about in game contention.

Can you imagine going in front of a judge and telling him you kicked some guys ass because he stole your node in a video game? How long till the guys in white coats show up?

However many times I have wished ventrillo had an electroshock option for raid leading. Man that would come in handy. Like the Simpsons episode where they were shocking the crap out of eachother. That would probably be the first hour of raiding until a truce was called.

Yeah I remember that...it was in SE Asia, over like a sword or something in Lineage, IIRC.

That was a long time ago though, like 5-6 years, in my EQ1 phase.
