Jesus... what a thread. A guildmate pointed me in this direction, so I thought I would give my side of the story.
Basically, it went down as he said. I was on late night with my girlfriend (adoria) and we got asked to come for a PUG in COA by Cieron. Aside from Adoria, I had never grouped or heard of a single person in the group.
All goes as usual and we just go in NBG and FFA everything no one can use. NOTHING is said about Cieron's 1 per person "rule". So, I get the first master, which was pretty much junk. A few minutes later another dropped no one could use and I rolled and was lucky enough to win it again.
At this point Cieron blows up in group chat and starts whining like a child about it. That's right... after the fact the guy tries and implements his 1 per person rule. Perhaps its coincidence that its a pretty damn good Guardian master? IDK.
So to avoid hearing him go on bitching, I declined the next TWO (yes two) masters that dropped after that! This whole time I had been declining the next couple masters that dropped, I was getting childish tells from the guy absolutely going off. I got sick of his whining and basically announced to the group I am going to roll on anything else not NBG because Cieron was being a complete dick in tells. So 1 more master dropped after that and I didnt win... didnt care.. wasnt the point.
After the whole mess cleared, we had 5 master spell drops in the one COA run. Thankfully Cieron didnt win a thing after his little rant. In group, the other people I had never met even took my side of it (rolling on all FFA if not needed). Cieron was alone fighting his own argument that everyone should pass FFA loot up if you won something.
At the end of it all, I tried rationalizing with the guy. I was the one that actually suggested taking it to "the community" to get their point of view. I meant the serverwide trade channel, but he decided to come here and make an ass of himself.
Bottom line is: its VERY common for all PUGs to roll on all FFA. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I have gone an large losing streaks for weeks on end, but I never bitched to the group... and especially EQ2 Flames about it.
