A mod has changed my signature twice now. The first time, he took the picture out of my signature and replaced it with this:

The second time, he took it out again and my sig read as follows:

There are multiple problems with this.

1) On the Edit Signature page, the only rule in regard to its size reads: "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 600 by 150 pixels or 439.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

Nowhere does it say that the entirety of the signature has to be less than or equal to 150 pixels tall. It is simply a made-up rule in an attempt to silence me.

2) Whether I am in violation of this made-up rule or not, I fail to see how it is my fault that the EQ2F BBS software accepts my signature.

3) While many people here at EQ2F are in violation of this rule, I am the only one being punished.

People whose sigs are taller than 150 pixels:

I never saw your previous signature. But assuming it was against the stated rules I don't understand the problem. It's been addressed many times -- if you don't like the rule, don't use the site.

While this is true, unless youve coded forum software before, its not an easy task to do. The software would have to download your sig and compare to to policy. While this isnt a problem the first time, there is nothing stopping you putting another image up in its place once accepted by any policy. To stop this, the forum would have to download your sig on a regular basis. This would put the bandwidth usage through the roof (as many people dont know the fucking difference between BMP and JPG).

I should imagine that the reason you got picked up on your sig is because a mod/admin was reading a post and saw your sig.

I doubt its anything personal but sig control has to be done. page content = 50k, downloading fuck loads of 500kb sigs = 5mb, sod that.

When you registered you agreed to the site rules, apparently you failed to read what you were agreeing to. Go ahead and spend the next week re-reading the rules so you're not confused in the future. Just because they're not plastered on every screen doesn't mean they're not valid.

Removing the ban despite the fact you're an ungrateful prick. For the record whoever moderated your signature decided to warn you twice instead of issuing a suspension (something they didn't have to do). We have very few rules here and they're not that hard to follow.
