    Hmm, that's a good point about Divine Light. Though I'm skeptical about its strength until I see it myself.

    For those who don't know: It's the Templar mythical that is a 8% damage reduction for 20s but reflects half that in focus damage. Which might be bugged to reflect the full 8%; it's been a while since I cared to look.

    Mobs hit that much harder, so it'll do much more damage. But the duration and recast make me skeptical about its ZW average, for instance.

    Divine light is the thing you could couple with death saves when a mob was about to do an insta kill to do massive damage right? At least on some mobs, only one I remember off the top of my head is that rat in underdepths that leveled up every time he killed someone.
    It's only weird if it doesn't work.

    Channelers can put out quite a decent chunk of DPS if specced for DPS, unfortunately they're in a similar boat to defilers in that part of the DPS is melee and part is spell and you can't really spec for both, and if you really want to be casting DPS shit, you have to forego casting heals. The DPS mechanic for channelers also requires the channeler to move every 1 second to maintain big DPS buff, which will make it challenging.

    Channelers have very strong direct group heals, including a frontal cone heal that can heal 24 targets.

    In very very very rough terms, my experience so far in heroics and early raids is that it's about 30% direct heals, 30% intercepts, 30% "special heals" (such as a couple of reactives or ward they have). The 30/30/30 can swing heavily depending on encounter, but this I think is a good thing as they're able to adjust to different situations.

    The conduit mechanic allows "mini" spec adjustments for different encounters, so a channeler that knows their shit will have the right stuff specced, while another may miss out.

    Spamming heals on the class is rather easy, so i expect to find many subpar players able to put up good HPS numbers. It'll take a good player to get the most out of the class though.

    Rez is a double edged sword: it's an instacast no-effects rez that can get up as many people as are within range. BUT.. its range is only 5m and it has a huge 45 sec cooldown. and it is the ONLY in-combat rez they get. Quite often i have found myself staring a couple of bodies and just waiting 20 seconds for it to be up again. The good news is that you can pull bodies to you with the channeler summon, but again, that's an ability you need to have slotted prior to combat in a space that may be used for something else. Tradeoffs, etc.

    Channelers have 1 group cure that also heals and 2nd group cure that can be slotted, which means that they're one-cure healers when not needed and two-cure healers when it is.

    I think stuff like that had SoE make reflects cap to a percentage of the reflect target's max health. I haven't been able to get it do anything very fun since Kozak or whatever its name was in TSO. But I'll certainly be looking for it again.


    Channelers otherwise certainly seem interesting in certain ways. But since it's the new class, everyone is going to roll one... so that kinda dulls my interest for the time being. I also can't decide if having more spec-options is good or bad considering you can only do one at a time. At any rate, I'm at least more intrigued by them than Beastlords which I never tried. I don't usually have time for alts.

    2nd to last name in Munzoks you could do that, templar did 3-4mil dps easy just reflecting the death touches

    I was really hoping the class would be competition for furies. Not that that is something thats neded, but its boring to have all the healers melee stat oriented. Another spell caster would have been nice.
