    They're mostly a shit ton of group/raid heals combined with damage interception from pet. Damagewise they seem on par with inquisitors if spec'd for it. Utilitywise they get a small power feed from their 2nd group cure. They're also capable of trolling with the group pull which I shall be taking advantage of.

    Is group pull as awesome as it sounds? Cause it sounds like I no longer have to joust, the channeler can just pull my ass back at the right time.
    It's only weird if it doesn't work.

    It depends on whether you can spare the dissonance to use it I guess. It costs like 1/4 of your bar to use it so if you're in a situation where you just had to pop off something big right before a joust, it's probably not that hot. It also doesn't work on the fighters so they gotta manually joust.

    It can be very awesome in certain situations. Examples:

    1. Your rez only has 5m range, you can use it to port all dead peeps to you to rez them.
    2. Mob teleports someone away or throws them "into the fire" (like the guy in Pickclaw does), you can pull person out even if they're rooted.
    3. Obvious joust applications.
    4. When encounter requires people to go away from the main group, you can port them in closer to save running time.

    Downsides:
    1. Dissonance cost is pretty small for it, the main cost is having to slot it over something else. but if you know you'll need it on a fight - win.
    2. It needs line of sight and VERY level ground. This results in it not working on EVERYONE quite often, since most zones have crap on the ground, ramps, tables, etc.
    3. It interrupts casting and it summons everyone but tank - so, if you're teleporting someone's corpse to where you're standing behind the raid, you'll ALSO teleport any melee people that are in and hitting the mob, which will be annoying to them. This is problematic because by design, channeler needs to be farthest person back in raid (to get their raid heal on everyone). Healers are non-issue since they can just stand within 5m on channeler and avoid teleport.

    Overall, it's something new and unique for EQ2 in terms of positioning, so i'm sure many interesting uses will be found for it

    If you are looking for a pure healer, look elsewhere. The Channeler is a hybrid (mix of priest, ranger and mage), not a pure healer. Just my opinion

    It's what you slot/choose it to be. If I go pure heal mode, it's hard to find a healer that can keep up with me. Likewise, they can do solid damage if spec'd for it, especially AoE.

    Seeing Buff rat's post that says he puts the dps below a defiler and above a templar kind of annoys me. No offense meant Buff...it's just that in raids I top the dps parse (over other healers, not dpsers...that would be silly) in my heal spec and in heal stance. I'm not trying to show off, I'm honestly trying to share my experiences. I'm currently only a recruit in Test of Time on BB server, so I'm only in the off-off tank group. But I still manage to come in 2nd on the heals parse under our mt group warden. We just did Sontalek or w/e the first name in Guardian's Edifice is and I topped the heals and, again, beat the other healers on the dps parse too.

    In groups I have had people genuinely shocked at how much dps I can put out (Single target 1 mill, aoe 2.5-3mill) while healing the group solo. I think it's mostly an understanding of the class and how you play. I have twitchy fingers so spazzing my movement keys works well for me. I always loved my ranger and my necro but I also loved healing. This is the perfect class for me...but it does take some time to learn. Yes, they have their downsides. But then again, so does every class that isn't played right. Don't expect to do 1-3mill right off the bat, I am in 3gem potent and a couple of 1 gem energized so I do have the advantage...but even in barely gemmed arcane I could heal 100k hps or so and do about eh 400k single and 1mill aoe.

    Again, I think it just depends on your playstyle. If you like healing but don't like the ranger class, this isn't the class for you. If you can keep up the dual class type of healing and rangers, this should be a great class to try!

    (Side note...I seem to have a bad habit of saying the wrong thing...so if I offended anyone or sound like a smart ass or w/e...I'm not trying to be...just trying to help. =/ )
