    A. they shouldn't have any effect tbh.

    B. don't think so at all, amount of damage intercepting depends on pets health, it stops at 25% but it gets lower and lower with less health, range I don't think would be an issue at all, may as well always set your pet to attack though since it does 0 dps, can't pull aggro like other pets.

    C. they all suck

    1) No, the only thing that affects intercepts are the 2 feet essences.
    2) If there is a range its giant. Half the time I don't even remember to send my pet in and it still intercepts so it would only be an issue in the huge ass ToV zones.
    3) I use reptile, feline, bear, dire. They're the best of a bad bunch.

    A) Increased potency and crit bonus increase the health of your pet, and with that reduce the relative damage your pet gets when interceding. As the amount of damage your pet interceps depends on the relative health of your pet, subsequent hits will be intercepted better. Besides that, your construct repairs are all percentage based, so heal more if your pet has more health. And thus it will be easier to keep your pet at full health if its maximum hp is higher.

More potency/cb = more pet health = stronger pet heals and smaller damage spikes on pet = bigger intercepts.
Yes, I play as cute little faeries with blue and pink wings, with flowers in their hair.

Yeah but it's not really going to make the intercepts better, just slightly easier to keep pet alive. I suppose it makes for better intercepts, but in a really roundabout way. For what it's worth potency seemed to add more health than CB did, at least on beta. I'll check when I get back on.

Since many people say that keeping the construct above 25% health is the chore during hard fights, I would think that more health for the construct is not only good but important, unless its some single-digit (%) pittance of an increase.

It is important. Anyone who says otherwise is pretty dumb.

The original question was asking whether stats affected intercepts. The answer is no. Yes pet health is important, which is part of the reason why I stack potency like mad. My argument was just that it doesn't directly affect the intercepts, just how easy the pet is to heal is all.

Ability mod have any meaningful effect on non intercept heals? Healing is most important for me but I'd love to reforge it to DPS instead as long as it doesn't impact healing raids.

Ability mod will scale only your heals, but it won't scale your intercept.

Plus channelers don't do any dps, don't bother.

Channelers are really OP healers in an MT/OT group spot but that's all they're good for (healing, that is, not specific group spots. they could heal a mage group or whatever too~).
