    They can do decent dps, its just a question of what you are willing to give up. You need a set of gear for dps, a straight dps spec, and adorns etc to allow you to be competitive with other healers. That, however, significantly reduces your effectiveness as a healer. That to me is a huge class flaw. They were advertised as competitors to Inquisitors in terms of slot and healing/dps capability but inquisitors and turn it on and off at will. Channelers require you to be one or the other.

    I would primarily roll as a more defensive healer until you have a set of gear built for dps and until you know what fights you can/can't dps on. You will also need to be okay with respecing all the time.

    Shadow is obtained by completing the channeler epic quest. Cinder has not shown up yet as far as I know.

    Intercepts are one of the strongest, most reliable "heals" there are. in my raid force I am on top of the parse 95% of the time. I am in the MT group with about 100k-150k hps. The other times are just because the warden's group is squishy as hell in addition to the fact they love to use their 220% CB -50% hp charms so once all that wears off his HoTs heal retarded amount hehe.

    Yes, it is kind of round about, but intercepted damage reduces as the pet's hp lowers. I believe it loweres every 25% health. I'm thinking it's about a 33% over all reduction every 25% until the pet is at 25%, in which it would intercept 0% damage. Increasing potency and crit bonus increase the pets' health, making it intercept more damage for longer. I've tested to see which gives more pet health...potency or cri bonus. I had a 4.5% cb/pot in a slot, and replaced it with an 8% potency. The pet's health went down. I did the same with a cb adorn with the same result. Lost about 20k hp. So the 9% combined CB/Pot is better than the 8% potency or cb adorns. So I would suggest adorning out with those.

    Any questions, send me a tell / mail ingame. Butcherblock.Frostfeather. I seriously doubt I'm the best channeler, but I have spent alot of time (maybe more than I'd care to admit...) learning the channeler, so I do know alot about it.

    somebody stupedify this whole intercept thing for me. i see 0 tooltip info in game and my experimental results raise more questions than provide answers. admittedly, I haven't dug in with ACT on this much.

    1. what's the chance to intercept damage? it doesn't appear to be nearly 100%. i have it on my merc. merc's health is going down consistently while pet is at 100% mostly. pet's health only rarely drops in noticeable chunks (soloing in heroic content).

    2. what percent of incoming damage is intercepted? meaning on successful intercept, if the swing was going to hit my merc for 10k, how much is the swing going to him for after intercept (assuming pet = 100% health)

    3. does the pet take full damage from the part it 'intercepts'? meaning, let say it works out that it intercepts 3k out of the 10k original swing, does pet take straight up 3k damage or is that reduced by some factors?

    Basically if intercept worked like the word suggests - meaning some percent of every dmg received is shaved off, I'd expect my pet's health to drop down a lot more consistently non-stop. Currently it just mostly chills at 90-100% with merc getting beat on

    @Clownshoe Not me I hope...just trying to share my thoughts with people. Not trying to seem like a know it all cause I know I don't =P

    @Twisty
    1) It is supposed to be a 100% chance to intercept a percent of recieved damage. I have noticed sometimes my construct refuses to intercept any damage. Mosty of the time it's ok though. If your pet has alot of health, it will take less relative damage.

    2) Click the person you have the intercept on. There will be an extra buff placed on them (Also called Construct's Interception or Overloaded Interception if you have the group one on) and it will tell you how much it's intercepting.

    3) Yes, it takes the full damage unless you have one of the construct skills on that reduces damage received (2nd box, Canine or Rodent Essence). Even that's only like 2.5% damage reduction...which does help on 600k+ hits you are intercepting.

    The construct has alot more health than normal. Mine is sitting at just under 2mill hp. It's also not going to intercept the FULL damage (unless you have single target interception + Maximized Protection *Found at the bottom of the shaper tree*), so intercepting a 100k hit with a 35% interception (single target + Dire essence) the construct will only receive 35k damage and the target 65%. Assuming you have the Canine essence on too and intercepted physical, I think the construct would then receive 34,125 damage.

    Hope this helps!

    Looks like my construct not taking damage while my merc is going down is probably result of a known bug. Sometimes constructs stop intercepting due to what's speculated as LoS issue.
    ===================

    Based on creature summoner, looks like dmg reduction bands are
    100-75: 30% redux
    75-50: 20% redux
    50-25: 10% redux

    the extra 5% from Dire seems just gets 1/3rd-ed by look of it

    Since AoM extension I lost a lot of hit %, do you know the skill Stat to use to increase auto attack?
    Is it crushing/slash.. Or ordination/subjugation...?
