And in future I can always go Bard for heals if needed. Cleric Healing in RIFT simply doesnt appeal to me and the dps souls imo lack. I am sure at higher levels and with the right gear they will be fine, but Im done with clerics.

lol....my Necro/Warlock/Chrolo OR Pyromancer/Warlock mage is now like lvl 33 of casual playing...its fun.

So I went into KB with a grp where the other mage was chloro, and the cleric was some druid/shaman dps spec....ok, fine whatever. The mage chloro sends me a tell warning me that this bitch cleric refused to use his healing spec, and thats why she is healing.

So the mage wasn't used to her chloro heals, and we died to some boss like 5 times, and not once did the cleric offer to switch to his healing spec.

the grp disbanded, and before I left I said to the cleric "better suck it up buddy, cause you might THINK you'll be able to ONLY be a dps cleric, but good luck finding grps if u ain't gonna heal ever at all."

    Annoying cleric punk.

My guild had a census of what class everyone would play before the game released. We had a majority of players wanting to play clerics, so I rolled a rogue (thinking I would play one like a healer in pvp). What I didn't know is over half the clericsdon't like to heal... so we're short on healing clerics for pvp, but it works out fine in raiding.

Healing in this game isn't that bad from what I've experienced (only lvl 47), you get a lot of tools if you spec for them, but most aren't required. I just spec for big heals, cures and aoe heals and do fine, though I heard the dungeons are a big adjustment.

At first there were almost too many options, but now that I've sorted through and picked out which tools I like and will actually use, I like rift healing compared to other games.

Chronos for hots helps a TON.

Most dungeons as a cleric healer are boring as heck. I try spicing it up with Warden some times so I have more buttons to press but it doesn't deal well with big spikes which the larger mobs and bosses do. Most the time I am sitting there hitting one button over and over. I occasionally have to hit my "oh shit" buttons but, generally, it's an hour of pressing 3 over and over again.

This is sad but true, healing in this game is horrid. Its so fucking boring.

I thought it was 'just me'. I'm trying and trying to like healing, but just don't - and that's been the role I've liked best in both EQ2 and WoW.

So I'll be another one of the faceless rogue millions that can't find a healer, I guess

Well my healer hit 50 and I got piggy backed through some T2s, I've done some T1s and a bunch of warfronts.

I don't know, I still like the healing setup but it might be that it's still fresh for me and you guys have been at it for a while. I'm playing 32 sentinel and warden up to curative waters I think it is, rest in purifier to max crits and wisdom. I seem to be doing fine and am enjoying it.

In warhammer it was aoe group heal spam so this is refreshing for me. I like stacking hots and try using all the tools available. Maybe it's the high Purifier and Sentinel builds that are boring? I'm not sure what to say.

One thing that is annoying I've found, is the mana cost on group heals. Now that bards have been nerfed I'm seeing more aoe spam and a warhammer type strategy of stacking your enemies and aoeing them down. You sort of have the tools to counter it, but your mana drops like a rock. They need to bring the cost down, especially since they're further nerfing bard aoe healing. It'll only get worse.

Nah, the problem is that Warden specs are really really tough to play without back up heals so, when you aren't getting freebie'd through content and want to heal (or pug) you need to move to a more boring spec that has the tools to deal with spikes.

I've solo healed through all of T1 and most of T2 (there are some bosses currently where it's impossible) and it's alot of me pressing three while only half paying attention after the pull. The only reason I pay attention during the pull is if I need to pop Healer's Covenant or something because our tank got frisky and pulled two rooms worth of shit.

Perhaps now that they are making the content easier (who knows why, it's easy enough as it is) I can go Shaman or Druid with Justicar and solo heal through self overheals in DPS spec.
