Kind of a moot point, seeing as the old one no longer drops in the game. You either have it by now or you never will.

Well, I guess the point was that it's a bit sad that the old one is better than a new shiny avatar earring. And that the old one was just that overpowered.

I like the power proc, believe it or not.

Beats the hell out of the gay crystal gift that's only as good as your inventory space, and it helps me avoid using MF to help out the inquisitor who is always low on power.

Oh, and I never killed T7 avatars, so moot point on the previous incarnation being better. Although it is pretty gaytastic the way they handled reuse.

Ah well.

I thought having a group power proc off hostile spell was definitely nice, seeing as there was a lack of those. Utility-wise, it's a close call, but I guess my ranking was based mainly dps-wise. It's just ironic that the more power procs there are, the further the coercer epic can be bashed down.

On an earring-related note, I finally moved the invoker earring down. Part of the reason was due to the nerfs to propagation and blessings causing a minor drop in dps (if you even had those buffs), but even then, the dps increase was mitigated by significant stat loss. You'll still get about 10 more dps of the earring compared to a pure 4 crit earring if you're fighting a non-ae'ing mob, but it's theoretically equal if you do get an ae'ing mob.

Just a speculation since I have an Inquisitor alt. I beleive their Inquest spell is a buff they can put on any group ally that will give the cleric power on a %proc of spells cast by the one its put on. IMO the inquizzy should put it on you since you (I'm assuming you are specced PP/VM) cast so damn fast. When I am in raid with another inquizzy, they rarely have problems because of this. Just a thought

I don't know if anyone else noticed or posted about this item, but I believe it is broken. It says duration for proc chance is 30 seconds, but in reality it lasts 3 seconds. Now I guess being a coercer we can make it work for us by macroing it to Hemo, but maybe we can get enough people to report it as a bug and either fix the item info to say 3 seconds or actually make it last 30 seconds. I personally prefer the later of the two.

Hm, I've never tested the runed guard's duration in raid (I assumed it was working) but solo it definitely works for 30 seconds. Since there's no icon, the only way to test it is through examining your gear. I'll try to see if I can get a better answer on this.

Ok I know people will disagree with this, but I am using a Girdle of the Di'Zok Spirit and love it. I can drop to < 30% and have almost 0 worries about mana as I chain cast to my hearts content. All my party have mana thanks to the Pond Wash and I don't have to worry about feeding them as I chain.
Is it Uber? No. Would I need it if a couple other people in my group had them on? Probably not. Still, it allows me as an entry level raider to do MUCH more DPS ( I jumped by about 200 last night) and not worry about OOM, which almost always did before in a long trash fight.
With 15 Spell damage on it, other stuff will rock the parse better once you get better gear I suppose, but I think I will be wearing it into Tier 2.
Of course I realize I am wearing part of the reason we don't matter as much anymore... I am thinking about dumping some of my mana regen AA now. I don't really need it ATM. My regular group healer has one too. I am thinking about turning off my mana regen to see if enyone even notices.

Power proc is definitely a first step towards building an int-line coercer. An average coercer uses 3000ish power per minute and only regens 1000-1700 power/min through spells (the amount varies on AA's and how much you mash your power convert). Most coercers have 2000-3000 power to work with under VM, so on shorter fights you can get away with no power procs, but on longer ones, you're going to be struggling. So, to maintain your power, you need 1500 power/min from other sources. The best way to get that power is through procs, since they lack casting time that shards and such have. To get that much power, you're looking for at least 3 items with power procs. My personal suggestion for less-geared coercers are the Necromantic Orb and a Sage Cloak, both are one-groupable encounters, although not super common.

A crystal gift is a nice way to get your power regen as well. They have a cast time of 0.5 seconds, but no recovery time, making them better than shards or hearts (both 2.0 seconds with no recovery time). But they have downsides too as far as them being slightly unreliable due to their no-zone nature, high hp cost, and low proc chance. Other items (tinkered manastones, power roots, signets) are available as well, but are limited or have long recast timers.

The Di'zok belt does proc quite often, doing more than what you'd assume due to group spells increasing the proc chance. But since there's other options, I just stick with those.
