Re: RoK Recommended Gear List
Yeah, thanks for the heads up. Those lootdb pics are not correct btw: there's missing set information and spell damage.
The mage 4-set is this:
\aITEM -1985444132 -745733174:Rusty Metal Hoop\/a - ear
\aITEM 10696680 1977459049:Magicky Danglies\/a - wrist
\aITEM -1270406261 -663813773:Looted Halfling Ring\/a - ring
\aITEM -1734663789 1557159004:Usla's Bangle\/a - fabled ring/wrist
If you noticed on the main list, I put in these items conditionally. So, I want to explain a bit more about why. Aside from the wrist/ring, each item alone isn't worth wearing. Usla's Bangle alone is probably the best/2nd best wrist available (at a 3.6% average dps boost rating to a 2.8% average dps rating before factoring in the utility of the avatar wrist), and thus is recommended for the wrist slot. It's not bad for the finger slot, but there are many more options available for that slot that are better or nearly as good.
The second best item is the ring. Cawti tested the 2-set in Kor-sha, and calculations also support 36-42 dps from the proc on non-goblins. With the set bonus, the ring becomes a 2 crit, 50 spell damage ring with a 40 dps proc, or about a 2.8% average dps boost rating, basically trying the Burdened Signet. I gave it the slight edge since procs have no cap, however, but it may be less useful than the signet for your particular setup.
The earring and the wrist are basically equal, but I'll do the earring first, since in its slot, it makes it better overall. As a 2-set, it's definitely behind the Bangle of Thuuga (turning out to be a 2 crit, 30 spell damage earring with proc, or a 2.2% average dps rating, versus the Bangle of Thuuga's 2.6% rating). However, assuming the proc boost works properly, as a 3 set (3 crit, 40 spell damage, plus proc boost) the rating jumps to 2.6%, equal to the Bangle. It thus gets the edge because crit and procs are more difficult to obtain than spell damage alone.
The final item is the legendary wrist. As a 4-set (2 crit, 20 spell damage, proc boost, and 3 total hostile reuse) its rating is about 2.5%, or equal to/slightly below the Bangle of Thuuga. As a 3-set (2 crit, 40 spell damage, proc boost and 1 hostile reuse), the value is lower, or 2.2%. In both cases it loses to the Bangle, but if you're looking for more reuse and have plenty of Spell Damage, it's definitely a viable option.
Hope that helps everyone, good luck farming for these things.
