Default RoK and Manaward

Is there a use for manaward in RoK? It seems like all the mobs that have a power drain ability either zap all of a character's power in one go or they drain far more than what the ward can handle.

EoF mobs tended to have power drain dots that drained power gradually, giving manaward a use.

I was just going to ask this same question today. With the lack of need for Manaward, I was thinking of respecing to grab Tash. I haven't hit the higher tier raid zones to know if MW is useful, but I'm guessing it's not.

Yep. The only real use Mana Ward gets is on the Venril Sathir fight. Everywhere else, like mentioned, just drains too much or not at all, but will see how it turns out after Live Update.

The few times that manaward had the possibility of being useful, the ward amount was too small to really protect your group's power pool. I got tired of seeing manaward being devoured in one poof, and respec'd away from it.

It had good potential with EoF, but it just never really got off the ground.

Hopefully we'll see some changes made to it. I personally would have liked to see it added in as a regular leveled spell so that it can be upgraded, with possibily the option to dump a few AA points into it.... just my wishful thinking though.

these are good reasons why not to spec manaward. But what about the other points in the mana tree?

Skilling Manaflow is useful
Skilling Breeze is useful
Skilling Minds Eye is useful
Skilling Consuming Thoughts is useful

I read alot of high dps in raids. But isnt it our first priority to support the groups with mana as much as we can? I mean thats why we are supporter, right?

Sure i really want to take the Resistance tree too for tash but then i cant skill the mana points.

hmm...

I recently dumped Mana and respeced Tash. I found that with a dirge in the group (which is 100% of the time with my setup), all of the AA's in Breeze and Minds Eye were just going to waste as my group was already over cap. Depends on your group if those are worth keeping. (still keeping Manaflow and Consuming Thoughts though)

I put 5aa into channeling, 3 in mana flow, and i think 3-4 in mana shroud...but thats about it for that line.

I went into Coercive Healing / Tashiana / Thought Snap. If you have trouble keeping your group full on power atm...well, you suck =\
