Well, I'd say the heroic wand doesn't 100% suck.

If you ignore the group power proc thing for a sec it has average stats for a t8 fabled -- not great but in the ballpark. It offers 4% crit which is the same as the necros get, and I'm willing to bet from there the same as all mages. It's also the same crit % as the legendary 2-H.

Then, on top of that it is giving us a 5% recast reduction. This should translate to around 5% more dps for most of us, plus it applies to all spells rather than just hostile, unlike most such items in the expansion.

Even really great procs don't usually give us a 5% dps boost. (Maybe the frigid piercer comes close?) So, it could be worse.

Right now, I'm using Anaphalxis and praetors right now. If I had this I could use it plus the Fitz symbol and Praetor's. I'd be trading a hard hitting proc for a wussy one plus 5% recast reduction. -- Plus a utility proc of uncertain actual utility.

All told, a minor upgrade.

I guess, when you think about it.. the reward isnt too bad for group content (by that, i mean using it in a group situation). You dont usually have stacked power regen etc in a group, like you tend to in a raid. Im curious whether the power reduction works on CAs, or just spells like it says..

5% recast reducer and 4x0,3 = 1,2% base dmg + mana reduce for the hole group... what the fuck is your problem cause there is no "cast death on enemy encounter, this has a chance of 100% to proc of hostile spells, hits target for 100% of they're health"
