Instead of comparing it to other classes (in which you feel so apt to do. Betray if you aren't happy as a coercer or reroll!), compare it to other items in our arsenal. Is it better than most weapons out there right now? sure! (minus t7 avatar loot) For me personally, and I know I'm not alone. I was using the 2H legendary staff from the MC quest. It procs a lot and crits a ton as well. By having an extra 5% reuse as well as the same crit chance while being 1H and allowing space for a symbol, it will make a huge difference for ME. THAT'S my point. Not all of us are going to like it and not all of us are specced exactly the same way with the same casting cycle. We all play this class differently and see many things differently. But at least point out some positives without being jealous of other classes. If you are jealous of them, reroll or betray and quit bitching about it.

What about a cap on spell mods? The proc on that staff i believe acts like a +spell mod. Which is greater:

A chance of doing 10% more damage (which may be capped) at random times on certain spells in which you have no control of the timing?

A +4% chance of doing 30% more damage on all spells (which is only capped by your crit%), all the time?

Sorry, I'm going to go with the latter. I still wear Vine Wrapped Boots and know to focus on crits more than spell damage now (as i am about 650 with 50% crit right now)

You may not be right, and I may be not right....but we both have our views and beleive we are right..don't we?

Sure I do But i have better rings (CRIT%) as well as the Cloak of Unrest which helps a ton more than the ROTFW imo.

wand of plasma is base damage, just like vm and it stacks with vm(and its up most of the time)

vine wrapped boots is + spell damage, i use the +spell boots from waste till queen slippers drop

and i tested the 2 hander vs wand
wand won by a lot

my crits are lower my + spell is 700+ depending on what i wear

Wow, yeah.. I'd be hard pressed to use that thing + any offhand symbol over my Staff of the Impaler. Let us pray loudly and with great fervor that the raid version is more super gooder without that craptastic mana effect.

Great quest, don't get me wrong. Very coercerish. The shard of subjugation is my true bud... just a meh reward so far.

Is the graphical design of this thing suggesting that we need to floss more?
