I'd have to agree with the weapon not being exactly what Coercers need, But I still like it. I have to admit being a bit of a noob Coercer, only raiding for a few months with him. I have respeced several times from advice from these threads trying to squeeze every bit of dps out that I can, But I am in our MT group and like the overall group benefits that the weapon brings.

I will continually try to improve dps, but my raid group dint bring me in for MY uber dps, its what I help others do.

Gotta admit Coercers= RedHeadedStepChildOfEQ2, But I still like the class!

Just a quick question on the mental damage to fighter taunts, would this also apply to the Monk's dragon stance? Which procs ~500 hate on 50% our swings. If that is the case, I love coercers even more. Just wish I had one around

The point Im trying to make for new and aged raiding coercers is that if your at the point where you need Siren's Gift (-20% use of power) then your doing something wrong. If it EVER comes in handy, your doing something wrong. If you ever hope and pray it will proc to help your group use less power...your doing something wrong.

Farm a crystal gift with 1 group for a week or so till you get one. Once you have like 20 (which doesnt take long). Take it off for DPS gear and save those gifts for when you need to channel. With a troub you can easily get jesters for mana shroud and channeling and use it MULTIPLE times a fight if ever needed.

The point is...why do you need -20% power use when you have Channeling, Gorging Thoughts, Mana Flow (group on epic...), and Mana Shroud. WHY!? DO!? YOU!? NEED!? MORE!?

I just dont get it...thats my frustration. With those 4 spells above your group should never, EVER have power problems.

Not flamming you or anything, just trying to stress my point.

I find it very strange how some coercers are missing one of SoE's hidden points with this epic.
SoE has seemed to always think of a coercer as a utility class. I say, use that utility to the fullest!!
We now have the power to keep most everyone in a raid with power, at all times. That means that less shards and hearts are used. If less of those are used, then the ones casting those items can do more dps (trading their utility spell [cast heart or shard] for a dps one). Also, those who constantly cannibalize their mana in any way, can now instead use something dps. It takes time to cast or use anything...and if other classes are not spending their time casting mana regen items/spells, then they can now cast more dps items/spells.
Some items for other classes are now fully useless! The coercer now provides plenty of mana to groups/raids...infact, so much that any item that has a + mana regen (for all other classes) can be traded out for a proc item, or a + heal or any other item specific to their class.
Coercer = utility to SoE....which means we dont get all that much dps from our epics, but others do get quite a lot more dps from OUR epic.
Let healers heal, let tanks tank, let the dps'ers go wild, because no longer does anyone need to worry about power..........example following:
#1. Coercer in full-out dps mode...raidwide dps 27k
#2. Coercer in utility mode, and all others in dps/heal/tank mode (specific to their class)...raidwide dps 30k
In example #1 the coercer might have 3.2k dps...and in example #2 the coercer may only have 2.5k dps....but its clear that example #2 is much better for the raid.
Our group-wide manaflow also allows make it so dirges dont need their mana-songs. And can now use some other song that is a debuff or dps proc or something like that. (Which in-turn, pumps the raid-dps higher) WE NOW CONTROL the power of all groups, especially if we have 2-3 coercers in a raid (depends on guilds). Our epic allows others to do more of everything that everyone else does best.
And thats simply the definition of a coercer. We help others do their job better, becaues we are a cross-class/utility-class.
