Something that me and a coercer buddy were talking about is the actual melee spread on the epic. even the fabled version has a decent spread and the mythical rivals most t1 loot for scouts in terms of dmg. He has a free respec on him so we figured why the hell not, lets try the str line.

He was able to melee me from 10 meters away
40+ dbl attack, crit, haste,dps, crushing/piercing ( on par with an assassin off stance )
with 200 str he hit me ( a scout ) for 500 to 1k and upwards of 1.5k on a double attack
Since this is purley for dps he made an AA spec using a mirror that used the str agi and int lines, we figure with all of the healer epics have crazy crits on them now they can find their own heal buffs. And with 490 sub without the wis line we think he should be fine if mezes are needed.

In the MT group he will have CoB from the dirge not to mention all the other STR buffs that should bring him up to 400+ str. I would say with a dbl attack he could hit a mob for 2k easy.

They go to VP tonight so it should be interesting to see the parse of the coercer scout.

If memory serves me well, I had a highest hit of 1080 on a colossus in MMIS pre-rok.
MT group, soulfire, amulet of the forsworn with a dps buff, 1 STR MC ring and +str adorns where applicable. Oh and I shafted a warlock on link to dps buff myself for it :P

I had the same feeling, really. With all the boosts people are going to get, why not try and see if the loss of heal crits could be balanced by a little self-improvement. Heck, no matter where you are, the entire raid will get cob.

I definitely will test the mythical in some of the basic raid zones, like I did when RoK came out. Reflective smoldering shards are plentiful nowadays, so it's not much of a risk Of course the biggest problems remain: first, that mobs ae the heck out of us squishy casters, and second, that melee hit rates are insanely low on orange mobs, and third, it's difficult to obtain gear that offers strength/other melee bonuses as well as good spell bonuses.

He ditched all of his +int adornments and replaced them with +str. still had 900+int to spare.

Also Str potions (fortitude) have a 30 min duration 30 min reuse for an extra 60+ str

Yeah, during my early melee days I used the str potions on my parses, as well as Rallos Zek deity blessings and miracles. But it's not viable to give up Second Sight potions when the majority of my damage is spell-based. But I could definitely put in some STR adornments for INT or perhaps STA where applicable.

I have STR line on my mirror. I didn't have time to play with it earlier but it's certainly more interesting now given the spread on the epic weapon.

I took the str/melee items from quest rewards throughout rok questing over caster ones I wouldn't use, so I have the double attack earring, some nice str/sta gear and some melee procs. It'll help, I'm guessing.

I've yet to raid/instance with it though, and with Praetors being bugged it's hard to get a grasp on the dps I'm really doing.
