To say that the illusionist pet is useless and that they get one shoted by AoE is totally untrue. They have much more HP than any dumbfire pets and you can also /petrange it to avoid AoE damage. These pets do alot of stifles stuns and daze and also a good amount of DD nuke. Not sure much much DPS a T8 M1 pet can do but its probably at least a 500-800DPS or more. Solo/Group wise it is going to be a big help to the illusionist while raiding that extra DPS is no harm since its practically 'FREE'.
What do coercers get ? a charmed pet that requires 3 conc slot and can break at any time and cannot be used in raid zones, and now SOE further nerfed it to 50% less spell damage?

A group haste that adds 10% melee db atk and 5% range dbl atk chance that requires only 1 conc to cast? That means with the epic illusionist basically get to grp haste and summon their pet and still have 4 conc slot to buff tandem on mages, so overall they are buffing up to 9 other individuals for overall improved DPS of ard 3.5k and they themselves are at ard 3.5k dps .
Total DPS they bring to a raid force = 3.5k + 3.5k + 0.7 (pet) = ~7.7k?

And so we get a 'redundant' grp manaflow ability from our epic ? And now that SOE has given us this 'overpowered' Grp Manaflow abilty they have decided to stealth Nerf our T8 M1 channel (if you all have not notice) to balance our mana regen capability?

Btw have anyone of you seen the mythical warden epic?
It has this effect Nature's Restoration =
when target cast a critical healing spell this spell has a 50% chance to increase power of caster by by 349-523.
In the raid MT grp casters have a heal crit chance of around 40-50%?
Is mana going to be a problem at all?

I respect your opinion Duress, but I can't totally agree with your logic.

1) The personae: the illusionist gets more personal dps through personae, where we can give the same amount of dps to an MT but we have none ourselves. I'd think these skills are at least equal as the dps amounts are the same, although ours has the possible bonus of offering the mt/ot more aggro. Depending on group setups it would be more useful or less useful, for sure, but increasing a fighter's taunts by 66% sounds good to me.

Take a typical fight named in vp. You can't joust Druusk or Nexona, pets take lava damage, so nothing on Taskmaster. Travenro's ae's are avoidable but pretty much impossible to place your pet in the place you want. Even Ekron adds have that frontal ae. So that's not all the named in vp, and it's only one zone, but over half is a decent chunk.

2) Mana flow: Definitely situational at best, but it's the same argument you have for illusionist gear, except across the entire raid. The entire raid could wear full heal/dps/tank/whatever gear without having to focus on power gear. So an entire raid can wear better gear and not have to be concerned about power while you're power-healing a group with 60% every 58 seconds. Now, being a power healer wasn't what people signed up for, but power regeneration is important and this offers you one way to control other groups in the raid, something that we couldn't do well or at all before.

3) Being in a melee group: Maybe it looks way better to us than to them since they already have uber buffs and we're being left behind bout that. But missing out a troub is more than missing out potm. Aria, plus the 10% base damage on the troub epic, does much more than one troub's potm zonewide. If we got this buff though, we could what, toss out more Peaceful Link? I'm more jealous of them having tandem in general rather than specific issues regarding the epic's buff, and totally more jealous of the bard weapons in general.

I definitely agree that they could have given us a better balance of a dps/utility weapon, because what we got is a lowest-of-the-mages weapon self-dps wise with arguable utility, but I can't say that the illusionist epic in particular is so great and that we got the shaft.

this manaflow thing.. we got no chance to stay under 30% any longer, we're more pushing our run button than our other spells.. this sucks. We don't need two mana relevant things on our staff thats all. Change Manaflow with something usefull like our hatetransfer will be groupwide (everyone in group transfer hate to target) or something.

Or, get this, Fix the mana flow thing to work properly, 10% to group + 10% back to yourself (not 60-70%, obviously a bug, if not fucking idiot devs are...retarded monkey-fucking cunt-hating ass-suckers) and replace the actual worthless Siren's Gift with...

something EPIC!!!




its all Siren's Gift, thats the MAIN bullshit on ours atm and I dont get why people keep straying from that.

sirens and the taunt damage are the 2 i dislike

i am always in mt group so i will get use out of the taunt damage
but why cant it be a group buff that adds mental damage to ca's(or make it frontal/non directional ca's)

that way we would work in more groups - ie scout buffers but thats what illys are now
so maybe we should get mage buffs to balance us out lol

scrap sirens no one likes it, plus the fact that i have yet to see it proc on the heroic version

i think i have said this else where but dont remember

There is no doubt that we got fucked(again)

compare the proc, 20%cost reduction vs 1000power proc

compare the modification, proc to tank's taunt only vs free pet which adds at least 500dps(more with the aids of troubs n wiz's frigid gift)

compare the spell improvement, grp manaflow vs grp haste+db atk+db ranged atk

not only this, think of other support classes' epics with effects that improve a 6man 100% proc to a 24man 100%proc, and +10%spell/ca dmg

can u say our epic is on par?

the group manaflow is the best thing about our epic

its the most usefull part of it, no matter your group or what is in the raid
it can/will have a use, even if its just to fuck with your illys
- if they change it to 10% for the group you cast it on instead of 10% per person then i think it will be complete shit then

Umm, they do? Might want to check that.

Anyways, everyone's DPS is affected in various ways by the heavily scripted named fights in VP, so just because the pet isn't going to have high survivability in all these doesn't mean it isn't an amazing addition to illy DPS overall.
