ok.. just to clarify.. the last option is a ironic statement when you have no coercer in raid.

Why wouldn't the coercer be in the MT grp if he/she is AA spec'd appropiately?

Channel, thought snap, DPS buff (also considered extra hate for MT) and superior hate transfer should ensure a place in the MT grp. Both enchanters do mana regen well in general but I still feel that coercer excels in this department as well.

CC is useless in raids (Illy>coecrer) and DPS is always a plus, hence why I can't say the same for the other 3 groups in the raid, which imo should have 3 illusionist's.

Channel is useful for a long fight wenn you have mana problems

Thoughtsnap is useful when your tank can't handle the mob

DPS buff + coercer dps < good swashbuckler/assasine

Hate Transfer is useful when you don't have a dirge and a good swash/assa

Channel is useful for any fight over 5 minutes which is most of them tbh (except venril sathir). It guarantee's the MT grp with unlimited power, no matter how hard people DPS and/or heal. I can't say the same about illusionist's in all fights.

Actually, Thought snap is perfect for mem-wipe mobs, when the MT is stuned and/or when someone else spikes too much DPS. Saying thought snap is only useful with nub MT's is laughable tbh. It just reitterates why coercers >> illusionists for hate.

The coercer as a whole bring 10 times what an assassin brings in the MT grp
  • minus -6% hate for all non-fighters,
  • unlimited power,
  • +16% crit heals,
  • coersive healing (+15% to heals, +15% oto ward, +1 trigger count)
  • +78% DPS buff,
  • guaranteed 7 sec clicky hate and very good hate transfer).
I will have to disagree with having the assassin replace the Coercer.

I would rather have templar, warden, defiler/mystic with the group +16 crit and one with coersive healing (and dehate someone in the raid by 22% hate) than the swash/assassin or alternatively the swash instead of the defiler/mystic for weak hitting bosses.

Coercer > Illusionist for hate and mana regen (and coersive healing).. everything else the illusionist can do better. But all you need is hate and mana in MT grp tbh.

the girdle of the di'zok spirit is like insta replacement for coercer. Seriously, get your MT healers this belt and tell me that you are needed in that group for anything but a complete power drain situation.

Now on the other hand, I tend to agree that putting an assassin in group is probably not a favorable alternative. A swash is a little less clear. They can use all of the buffs of the group effectively and are not missing out on key components like the assassin would be (haste mostly) and their consistently superior DPS output could overwrite the little we do to fill the gaps. Of course that assumes that you have a swashbuckler competent enough to be running a consistent 3-5 spot on your parse, and that you as a coercer cannot maintain a solid 7-10 spot. For the most part I believe you'll see that this is not the case. I believe that the point however was made for those few guilds that are locking down avatars and 1 pulling every mob in VP.

I myself am a MT coercer, but I can definitely see how in a lot of circumstances I'm not needed, nor is my particular role necessarily the most beneficial in my position.

As a test, we did a flawless pull and execution of Overking where I turned off any power spells I run. The MT grp never dropped below 90% the whole fight.

That belt needs to get nerfed, I hate the fact that being a class that manipulates mana is being replaced by an item that you don't even have to raid for.

Thanks SOE for taking away yet another ability that made us worth a dam.
