Is it just me or is it going to be hard to not get aggro and die when 2 aoe's overlap and peaceful link hits 50 times?

Peaceful link is guaranteed to get you aggro on certain pulls even when it's only on one or two people. It also generates social aggro for certain mobs that engage your entire raid when you enter into combat with them that ae (i.e., drakes in VP). So you'd have to wait even on some occasions to even put it on safely, and there's no way you could put it on that many people. Combined with spell scourge being high aggro on ae's, then yeah, there's some drawbacks/concerns.

And yeah, there's times when I want to put Peaceful Link on one or two people more, but not 20 people more. A solution for having to buff like crazy is that they could make it raid-group-targeted so it'd end up taking 2 or 3 concentration for 12-18 people? Of course the problem is that it does affect fighters.

On another note, I do like that they made the pants interesting with 2 effects and increased the cap and the boots a tiny bit. I hate the robe/gloves, but I would consider wearing the full 6 set now (Robe of Dark Power + the other 6 pieces) for certain groups if I had that many pieces. It being only spell casting versus ability casting is a bit of a pain, though.

The 4 set is still a big meh, like our AA that increases it, it's adding 72 power/minute. Great.

At least I don't eat Cheerios !

Except that removes half the punishment of dying, which is precisely what one shouldn't be doing in a fight.

I was just pointing out that it's stupid to "add utility" that equates to tedious buffing, deaths midcombat aside.

You totally should - cheerios are teh yum...except when it includes excrement, of course.

I don't think I've _EVER_ gotten aggro from Link. But I'll add the caveat that I've never had the luxury of casting it all over the place. When I was coercer, I basically ran with four scouts/fighters, all of whom got Impetus, and then a mage would beg for link...

And I'm sorry, but mages are shitty candidates for generating dps on link, at least from my experience. They always (quite rightly) stand a good distance away to avoid aes. And I think it'd be shitty of me to deny the mage link only to throw it on a rogue who doesn't need it.

That all said, I could see aggro pulling akin to a pre-casted spell curse if the entire raid engages asap and eats the incoming ae....and supposing this sort of thing happened regularly during the course of a fight...it sort of defeats the purpose of the spell and being able to distribute it so freely.

I stand by the impression that this isn't a well thought-out change, but hey, maybe better's to come, who knows. Not like there are many illus masters on Kithicor to invest in. =P

Er, not sure what kind of raid you're rolling in, but a person dying doesn't necessarily mean "wipe" or "restart."

It just means you fucked up and, as a consequence of fucking up, you lose your buffs and damage your eq (plus some other minor annoyances). And then you get back on your feet and rejoin the raid in keeping up the good fight.

Same applies if two people, six people, hell, even twelve people die.

But I can agree on the last statement! ;) Sometimes I wonder why I bother anymore (although it's gotten a bit more exciting lately).

Being in the OT/MT, I generally get at least 2 or 3 concentration which I dump link into. Initial aggro happens alot to me, although it's not completely my fault - if there has to be a pet pull or arrow pull that misses, the mob decides that I'm tasty.

Avatars make a beeline for me on pull, so much that I stand at the pull spot. Even lesser mobs that ae do it though, but in those cases it's not as big a deal.

Recasting the buffs is bitch work, it's not like the targets are going to change every single time. I hate revive sickness lasting as long as it does but I'd still prefer something like that over rebuffing.

sounds like it wont stay, they are already taking away tandem from being conc-less, so i guess you can cross your fingers for this one to stay...granted it will be annoying as hell to buff over and over again, but thats why i love macro's!
