Yeah, I'm glad they listen to my bug reports. I thought it was going to be fixed in the last GU though, so I kind of put off letting people know.

I was looking over some of my parses to see and not a single one parsed the wand below 270. Most were above 300. (Zonewide) With a decent amount of debuffs up the Wand hits for very low 500s, with the luck of Tash and Dispatch up it can crit pushing 600.

So I do agree with attempting to avoid some spells with this item, however never "wait" for something faster to pop, that's just silly talk.

Way to make me go back and read what I wrote months ago, Fnar. :P

But what I said was true, if you understood the context. I was not saying "this is your damage per cast." No, it was "this is your base damage if you want to calculate your theoretical damage using other theoretical damage that was also calculated from base damage of that spell." In other words, since I used only base damage to calculate a theoretical spell order, you have to use the base damage listed on the wand to calculate how it affects that spell order.

Yeah, I know I should try to some parses and discover more accurate numbers, but the base numbers really aren't that bad for this sort of thing.

Anyway, if you want to calculate whether a spell is better or not with a wicked wand, you can either double the "theoretical damage amount" under appendix II, then add in 500, or just add in 250 divided by the spell's cast time under appendix III (to normalize to damage per second) and add it into appendix II's numbers.

I did not do the math in every single case, but most cases you're going to see that it doesn't adjust the true spell priority order. Logically, it bumps up your faster spells more than it does your slower ones, so at most you'll end up recasting dots more than casting your ae's again and again.

Also add in Recovery time to cast time as well

Ah, yeah. If you did it the first way (the lazy man's way), you wouldn't because you're just adding damage. The second way, you would. Recovery time is added into those figures (assumes 48% recovery, max aa). Of course it assumes 75% spell haste on average, and you will be at 85% average with the wand, so you'd have to basically adjust the math per-spell if you wanted to be more exact.

Edit: Doubling the theoretical spell and adding 500 would result in about the same order as just adding 250 to appendix II. I realized this the first time I thought about it months ago, but I just re-realized it now. So the true lazy man's way is to add 250 to those numbers in appendix II (since there's no additional cast time) and see if there's any true difference between the spells. You'll find that there isn't; the closest one is shockwave-absolute silence. But like I said, you'll end up casting your dots again more because of the difference.

Is there a way to named Charmed pet as your name ??? or puppet master pet as your name to include them in your DPS on the parser ????

I can name possession pet as my own name but i cant whit charmed one or puppet master :-(

puppetmaster is included on your DPS no matter what their name is.

Yup, puppetmaster always shows up as "(name) puppets" and if you name your essence after yourself, it'll add to your damage. On the other hand, there's no way to assign charm damage other than just adding it yourself.
