I just put the spells I use the most in an area where I personally notice them the easiest. If I was still in my sorcerer mentality, I'd put TM as 1, Hostage 2, Spell Curse 3, Hemorrhage as 4, etc. But personally I just go for what works for me, they're interwoven everywhere with control spells closeby, etc.

DPS Chart
1. Hostage - Top for sure
2. Tyrannous Mind - 3.6k crit hits damm nice
3. Spell Curse*** - decent for sure
3. Asylum - Yeah nice with pants
4. Brainshock - second spell hafter mind i cast normaly allways lands
5. Shockwave - 7k Crit hit
6. Puppetmaster* - nice but not awsome
7. Hemorrhage - If you really try to cast it after every 2-3 spells damm nice dps
8. Master's Strike - 8k crit hit
9. Dissecting Gaze - Full time dot on a mob, extrem awsome in aoefight after spell curse
10. Ego Melt - ok dmg
11. Absolute Silence - Can do more dmg then hemorrage, but 8times longer recast
12. Intrepid Focus** - Would never be part of my casting order for dps, Damm awsome if your need 2 secs time to heal up a little.

My dps chart tbh, because i have wicked wand of malice and defo try to keep up my cast speed as much as poss to porc the hell out of it.

Appendix III calculates out how much damage per second each spell is at higher casting speed. Even with the wicked wand, you only adds 250 damage to each across the board (since those are also using the base numbers, the wand also uses the base number, and per second is already calculated for you).

If you have the aa for Focus, and with perpetuality, the difference between casting times of Hemorrhage and Intrepid Focus is 0.28 seconds: 0.90 vs 1.18 seconds. Without the aa, yeah Focus is not worth it. But with, you can see there's basically no difference. It does count as a hostile spell which procs as well.

Silence is actually one of the better spells despite the longer cast time. It ticks faster than any of our other dots and thus realizes the full damage potential most of the time. Asylum/Brainshock take 24 seconds versus the 16 second time, and thus don't tick all of their dots every time.

You can't read just the reuse or the act damage. Shockwave can crit for 10k, but for a 2-2.5 second cast, that makes it only worth 4000 per second. Hemorrhage can crit for 3k, so 3333 per second makes that difference less (though still signficant). Don't be wow'd by the simple big numbers alone or gimmicks.

Going back to a max-speed spell order may give you 1250 more damage per minute from the wand. But missing Absolute Silence costs you 2000 damage per minute alone if you're just replacing it with Hemorrhages only. Skipping Focus/Puppetmaster may also be good for you, though. My advice is to redo the math to get your optimal spell order, it may not be mine but it isn't that one.

I'm not that sure that silence runs the full duration like Asylum on epics, i would need to check that ingame.
I saw 16 secs turned down to 5 secs on epic mobs (like the spell says), not sure if the dot went on too :/

For me, all six dots hit in that 5 second period, it appears.

Ah yeah, sorry for the botched explanation (saying it was 16 seconds, but it's actually faster on epics as already explained). That's why it basically is as good as Shockwave nowadays.

One of the most asked questions I get now is how do I manage aggro on pull. That's a bit of a change from the old questions.

Most of the time, I just rely on the tank and go all out. I don't try to use dehate buffs and instead if it's a big problem, I just adjust my spell order.

Basically, putting up Hostage early is the same as casting an Ice Nova on pull. Some tanks lose aggro with that, and some don't. If you are getting aggro often, then the easiest solution is to just move Hostage down the list of your casting order. Moving it to after Spell Curse or Asylum should give your tank more than enough time to build up aggro unless someone else has ripped it off as well. As a bonus, at this point you have more debuffs on the mob and the damage-per-cast is a bit higher; the only downside is that the recast is set back.
