Haha. Well I do appreciate all the advice..I'm learning.

I do not have all Masters yet. I finally got Hostage Master 1 the other day for 30 plat which is the cheapest I've ever seen it. Most other masters are out of my league right now, but I'm always checking the broker.

I found a tactic that worked better for me.

The mobs that stand in front of the Grand Devoter are wizards. They make awesome pets. So I just stay at ranged and only attack when the boss is stunned. Then even if I get resists, the boss usually turns on my pet first and not me.

Charm usually breaks at some point during the fight, but I was able to reclaim the pet most of the time.

Those are the only 3 wizards in the zone. Two fish types are warlocks -- Feeders and one other type, name escapes me.

I just keep the mob rooted, alternate Focus stun and Silence because my recast timers allow me to do that, so the named is on complete lock down.

The mobs do seem a bit harder since the last LU adjusting the zone to have all 5 up all of the time.

The margin of error seems to be a bit lower as these nameds appear to be using a wider variety of spells and hitting more damage with them as a result.

Dispersion items are useful in that they may give you that extra little edge in recovering from a bad resist, but pumping your subjugation up is definitely a good recommendation.

i feel ya on that one.. for a while i was using wis line for free sub so i can bring up my reuse gear but i realize that all i really need to do is slap on claymore and i'm gtg in my normal raid spec after the LU i am going to have to get wis line again for sure.

I think I've nailed down a decent strategy now, thanks to everyone's help on these forums. It's a less aggressive approach but I die way less when I use it. I just take a sectary pet and only attack when my stuns are up. Easy enough. Still get a few chain resists and imminent death sometimes, but I suppose that's just the way it is sometimes.

However I have one question: how do you solo the Grand Devoter? I mezzed him and he hit me with an AE that sapped half my HP and mana. Ouch.

He casts that AE through every control effect except fear I'm guessing, which is why someone mentioned Cazic Thule deity to kill him. He drops shit anyway, so it's not even worth changing deities.
