I am still optimistic for these changes. Really, Coercers cant go anywhere but up DPS/Utility wise. I actually resubbed 1 account so I can help test these changes.

he is almost re-envisioning the whole class from the ground up. I would assume they are changing whole lines of spells, testing and what not, would take closer a month or even more. This is fairly dramatic.

Considering that the spell mechanics all exist in other classes' spells (cept for Possession and Volatile Magic), I don't expect such a severe drop off in terms of time. Of course, I could be wrong. Basically it's just wait and see from here, anyway.

Reactives change likelyhoods.
Auspex line: When target is hit with a melee weapon, inflict damage, triggers X times.
Spell Scourge Line: When target is hit with a spell, inflict damage, triggers X times.

They may have to balance the number of triggers to be inline with the prismatic Illy line. Otherwise, coercers would have like 9 triggers (maybe 8).

Plus cata mind is being changed into a reactive as well, so i wouldnt be suprised to see the damage go down at all (or the # of triggers).
They may change the AA line like the illus and just give us quicker recast on auspex / spell scourge and add +2 on BP from VP instead of +3 (id like +3 to stay though lol).
But thats my guess on that.

Pinski from what I was reading, Cata is going to be like you described curse. This makes me wonder if they're going to change curse at all, which I suppose wouldn't bother me if they didn't.

If it makes a photocopy of the creature, then it doesn't keep with the possession or coercer theme at all; instead it's been Puppetmaster'd and doing something more suited to an illusionist. The concept behind possession was fine, the mob weakness and use of player faction were what killed it. Could have been a real fucking cool spell if just the things wrong with it were fixed.

Except it could have never ever been used on raids, which alienates a large portion of its use, and means there's far more wrong with it than mob weakness and player faction. At least this way it will be usable.
