Illy had there day now its the coercers turn I just wish they would lock it so they all can not betray back.

I am not getting tooooo flustered till this goes live. I would like one time to outparse someone besides the healers in the raid maybe my day is comming.

Because the spell's damage amounts for Hostage and Spell Curse are unchanged from their prior mechanics, I doubt it'll go live exactly like this. Even with adjustments, though, this is pretty crazy.

The possessed essence sucks - takes 3 conc, is level 80, and has crappy mit/damage, but it has a use if you're farming low level zones.


Quick summary:

Awesome:
-DPS is pretty much overpowered right now. Even just the change to Absolute Silence is going to give us about 100-150 more dps zonewide. I don't expect the rest to stay the same.
-Coercive Healing is similarly excellent, and clerics get a healing bonus on top of their trigger bonus, so they don't get completely shafted from that portion of the buff.

Good:
-Tash does 3k to all resists (versus 4.5k to mental), but has a 2 minute base reuse (versus 1 minute previously). Alot more useful to the raid overall, but it was also nice having it up every trash mob.
-Manaward is about a 6000 HP ward with a 5 minute base reuse. Unfortunately the rest of the line is still underpowered. At least it makes it a consideration when choosing between Resistance and Mana lines.
-No thoughtstones.

So-so:
-Peaceful Link only applies a position change when target is hit by a melee weapon, not too useful for mages. With no reactive damage, you lose the easy-mode extra dps on certain avatars. Harmonious Link is the same now as well if you don't have the VP set.
-Puppetmaster is 4 pets, and does about 25-35% more damage per pet. But it's basically not a significant change, maybe 20 dps zonewide, tops.
-Dissecting Gaze and Brainshock were unchanged, so they still have power-drain on em.

Crap:
-Possession. I could only think of limited uses solo for this spell, unless we get items/aa that reduce the concentration amount. No way this is useable in raids, nor is it worth it over charm.

This current change fucks up casting order lol, at least while solo. I even forgot Absolute Silence was damage now. But here's 8 training walls (all I had time for). These were my first 8 fights on Test server, so that's not the best that can be done. I was mostly testing different orders and spells. Also... Convulsions is only from Spell Curse because you cannot cast Hostage on the wall.

Mana Ward gave 6.9k ward from 11k power.

Oh yeah, then you know those triple ups at City of Mist? Yeah... They die in 20 seconds while rooted. Killed 2 spectres, first one 4.6k, second 5.4k.

possession is weak but should be "fun" i guess, if i get stuck in a non tank group with illy i will have the three concentrations to waste during raid so xtra dps would be nice i assuming maestro and procs... but really i was hoping for MORE its like a CHARM that can;t kill you when it breaks....

i would have liked to have seen maybe a cpoy of the npc like they do now an maybe 3 more hotbar buttons pop up based on what type of mob you possessed (for each concentrtatiion it costs) like maybe ice nova and fire carpet if its a sorcerer or maybe a group buff or soemthing that would be great having bard buffs when no bards logged in.

Having an 80 coercer myself that I enjoy highly , I really look forward to these changes. However, I believe care must be taken to make sure these reactives do not just blow the shit outta everything else dps-wise.

I hope that coercers and illy's become equal in terms of damage output and not the disparity the chanter class has been. If the devs need to take extra time to make sure this happens I really wish they do.

As for the buffs I am excited that we get what seems to be suitable equal counterparts to IA and TC.

I will agree though, the -hate position melee thing wont really work that well if you are one shotted, but I suppose thats what the dispersion gear and prayers are for.
