New DPS question
OK, first, yes, Im a nub, so please excuse me for being a dumbass up front. I have a coercer alt, and was doing some grouping yesterday with a SK, troub, fury, defiler in Karnors. So almost no resists due to mob levels and such.
It seemed to me that some of my DPS was going to the other group members because my parses were kind of low while everyone else was amazed at how high theirs were. Is it possible that ACT can get bugged and count the melee reactives towards another toon in the group besides me?
For instance, the troub, who is pretty good in his own right, was parsing 4k or more when we had four or five triple up mobs on us, while I was only parsing roughly 3k. The troub noted that he was getting really large proc numbers over the mobs head that he had never seen before, like 1500 to 2000 per hit, but only like two or three hits. The SK tank in the group noted the same thing but less occurances. I was starting to think they were getting credit for the melee reactives I was putting up instead of going to my dps.
Is that even possible? Has anyone else noticed this at all?
Everyone in the group has third party damage turned off, so they shouldn't see my procs right?
On the parser, I noticed that the melee proc was almost nothing on my parse, like less than 1%. Am I just being a dumb ass here or what? Or does the guy parsing need to update his ACT?

Re: New DPS question
It could be that you were casting Tyrannous Mind on your groupmates during the fight. That spell gives the proc damage to whoever you target it on (or if you are targeting the mob, whoever the mob's implied target is). That could have accounted for it without seeing the parse.

Re: New DPS question
About making the macro, can you make it so you don't have to retarget the mob?
I'm guessing it would br something like this.
/tar (whoever you are)
Tyrannous Mind
/tar previous npc
Sorry, I'm pretty noob with commands/macroes.

Re: New DPS question
Open up your macro. Create a new macro, select Add Spell drag Tyrannous Mind to it and type your name for target.

Re: New DPS question
Awesome, this was one of the issues, so thank you very much. I didn't even notice the buff in my buff bar after the changes, but since you said it, I do see it on whoever I cast it on.
Does this proc on tank taunts? Like, can I cast this on the MT during the raid and help his dps/agro? Or due to his low int, this would be a waste?

Re: New DPS question
The Mind line procs on spell attacks only. Spell attacks have 2 requirements: 1) that it is a spell with some casting time and 2) that it has some (any) amount of damage attached to it. (This means procs don't work because they don't have casting time). While taunt is a spell, fulfilling the first requirement, it doesn't naturally have damage on it. So it doesn't proc it. This changes with the mythical epic - which gives damage to fighter taunts - or for warriors specifically, their 3 set warrior bonus, which does the same. They then proc this spell. *Edit: For some reason, casting Mind on someone also eats a one trigger of Mind that has been previously cast on yourself. Mind does not proc on Intrepid Focus, on the other hand.
As for the damage amounts, it bases it off the stats of the person you've buffed. I.e., their Int, Spell Crit, Spell Damage and also they don't have the AA that increases damage. Only if you cast it on yourself do you get the aa increase. Basically for a warrior or brawler, this is 33% of the damage you do, and for a crusader about 60%.
I believe this to be unintended however, and likely the spell will get "fixed" sometime soon so expect a let down.

Re: New DPS question
OK, made that macro and my group/raid dps has gone up slightly. I still think I am doing something wrong, because when I solo, I can put out as much or more dps then when I group or raid, (which seems kinda backwards). Maybe my casting order is giving me too large blank spots in grouping/raiding. Not sure, but I will keep experimenting.

Re: New DPS question
I have the same situation, I put out 3.5-4k in both situations pretty regularly
