Are there any non-raiding/raiding coercers that haven't taken CH, Manaward and Aura? I'm thinking that even though these are probably required AA's for MT coercers, perhaps non-raiding or non-mt group coercers may have builds directed at dps optimization.

If you fall into this category, could you link your eq2players character so I can compare?

I myself am a primarely solo Coercer, well could almost say solo only as I play solo 99.8% of the time. Maybe once a month I'd run with an instance group or on the very rare occasion jump in on a PU raid. Anyways my Coercer's name is Oriax on Runnyeye server if you wanted to go into EQ2Players to check out AA setup's.

I am a primarily solo coercer, but I find the aas I spent in the coercion line to get coercive healing maximize my dps and the odd time I do team coercive healing helps alot. So I stick with that. I don't have the other things you mentioned now with 98AAs and do great against some white and all blue and lower ^^^ heroics.

I dig my job too. Soloed thuuga at lvl 75 and will get my hammer tonight after 1 factions 1 lousy babysitting quest at lvl 76. Yesterday we have been to SoH with 11 alts from the guild for checking trash and my zw was 1650 at lvl 76 with 117 aa. Here is my 2 c.
For a dps build you dont have much choice in ench line just spend the 55 and move to coercer line. Here if you leave 6 to mindbend out and 10 to stuns, 8 for debuffs in for chain nuking then 54 aa in coerc line is enough for soloing the solo content and making a go for orange names at jw.

So, for now I'm at (124 AA):

AGI 4/6/5/8/1
WIS 4/4/4/8 (Trance has dramatically decreased my mezz/charm/root resists)
INT 4/4/6/8/1

Then on the coercer line:

Efficiency; Gaze, Hesitate, ES, Stupefy, Wail
Coercion; Mind, Haruspex, SL, Mindbend
Resistences; Charm

Now I've started going down the mana line. I haven't taken any of the final abilities on one the coercer tree just yet. I'm really thinking of going the way of Tashiana and CH.

DPS-wise, I think I do okay. When I look through ACT, I see myself spiking upwards of 6k during a fight, but I seem to finish somewhere in the 2500 - 3000 dps range (nameds). I've also started soloing some of the named in Chelsith which has been fun figuring out.

I'm just not sold on sacrificing Trance for Empathetic Aura. Without Trance, it get too many resists (maybe 1/5) and in places like MC and RE2, CC is of higher importance than increasing a healer's crit, imo.

No tash? you don't find that useful on heroic names?

With tash and psyche/depression on things my mage pets tend to gain an extra 2000-4000 per nuke.

As a raider, it really will depend on the strength of your raid, but for me thoughtsnap/coercive healing is a must. I switch out tashiana/manaward on my mirror. Tashiana will improve DPS, and manaward is an extra save for your MT. If you think you need that extra save, then spec manaward. If not, increase your DPS.

My solo/group spec looks something like this:
- coersive healing
- tashiana
- thought snap
- chronomancer
- savant
- leftover enchanter points go towards boosting subjugation skill and mez's
- leftover subclass points go towards mana regen and/or more efficiency

I've found having ridiculously high subjugation skill is way more helpful when solo/grouped than what the empath line has to offer. My mezzes, charms, stuns, roots, etc are hardly ever resisted even when I use the group versions on mobs several levels higher than myself.
