Its common knowledge that casting a group buff (in a 6-man group) puts you to perp-5 instantly. Illusionists can cast Mana Shroud, Savante, Illuminate, or Flash of Brilliance.

Coercers have less choices, Mana Shroud or Third Eye (AFAIK)

So, here's another way of doing it:

Grab a harvesting tool, made by a woodworker (not sure on the tinkered ones)

Drag it to your hotbar.

Spam click on it 4-5 times. Voilà, perp-5.

The cast time is pretty much instant with zero recovery time. You might get a message on the screen, but you'll still be at perp-5 prettty fast.

I discovered this on accident since I came back to the game, not sure how useful it is in raids since I'm still working towards 80

The final thing from the enchanter agility line has a counter of sorts. You cast a spell and you're at perp1. Cast another before perp1 runs out and your at 2, and so on until you're maxed at perp5. However perp5 only lasts 2 seconds until it runs out and you have to start the chain again to build back up. A resist or even a little slip up can cause you to lose the build up, so having something to spam like the tool can help you build back up faster so you lose less dps.
Oh, and each tier of perp is a casting speed increase, so the higher the one you have, the faster you cast.

In short if you're a clicker it will give you carpal tunnel if you intend on keeping it active.

ah now i get it thx alot i never thought of the spell as perp5 even though it was the first line i maxed course of that spell - But very nice tip

Have they recently nerfed the using a harvesting tool to raise your perp? I logged in tonight and while spamming my harvesting tools noticed I no longer raised my perp.
