There is a stun and a damage component to the spell. Meaning that if you 'land' a stun and he's still swinging away at you that means the stun part of the spell resisted but the damage part is still ticking and will do the damage on termination. Yes it will still show in your UI as if the stun is on but thats because there is no different icon or indication that half a spell landed so it does what its supposed to do when a spell lands, as it technically did.

Unless of course you're talking about the group stun.
In that case its news to me.

Yes started the zone killed the first two named and decided wasnt worth the effort ....

Problems :

1. No Mobs are charmable

2. Many PE pets Dot so forget trying to mez kill anything with PE pet

3. Named Have shit load of Hit Points (took me 10-15 minutes to kill each named)

4. If you dont kill the Priest fast enough (second named) he might reset. (Found that out the hard way and very annoying when you have the mob at 10 percent after 10 min of fighting and oooo magically he suddnely resets with his friends that you have already killed Oh Joy !!)

After third attempt finally killed him and he didnt reset probably a bug they need to fix .. Anyway was intresting to attempt soloing having to kill all the trash along the way ,the REAL way, but definately not worth the time or effort for the loot table they have in there so far... if anyone comes upon any tricks or new solo strats for this zone would love to hear them ...

Interesting. I just started leveling my coercer again, he's 79 now and should be 80 in a day or two. Believe it or not I've never tried to solo a heroic mob with him. He's a beast against single player mobs, but since I've yet to really need a heroic mob I haven't tried (solo quests ftw).

Are there any threads/strats that any of you can recommend? I doubt my PE pet would stay alive very long against a heroic, so do I try the mez/stun/nuke method? Can coercers solo heroics in JW such as General V'Deers or Megawhatshisface, that shark? Or should I keep my mouth shut before we get nerfed? :P

We can solo pretty much any nameds that are controlable (mezz/stun etc), Trash mobs are easy peasy to solo, even level 82-84 Heroics.

Not sure about General D'veers, I doubt Coercers can solo him. I think you stand a chance if you can solo burn him in ~40 seconds.

V'Deers is control immune and will land a huge uncurable KB/stun IIRC when you pull him that will kill most players. Maybe with a ton of displacement/dispersion gear you could survive 10-15 secs but he'll kill you a few hits later.

He was soloable by Rangers at RoK launch with snares, but no coercer will be able to solo him.

Yah .. but I think the first time most coercers see a named we try it. As a coercer there is nothing worse than that immune msg .. well maybe the cannot be charmed msg.

lol, i gotta disagree, when the cannot be charmed msg pops up at least the mob isnt pissed at you.. immune tho, that mob's coming runnin, and theres not much you can do about it lol...

yeah pretty much every named in Sebilis is immune to any CC, which totally sucks. Has anyone found any that you can mez/stun etc?

As a Coercer who is reaching the endgame (now 76 and exploring Kunzar Jungle), I would appreciate it if anyone would suggest a progression of instances I can learn to solo to master this interesting technique and style of gameplay.

I also saw a reference elsewhere to some videos done by Fnar, but have not located them. I'd also like to know any other useful threads along these lines.

I have only a few T8 masters (The DD Master 2 and Brainshock Master 1), but I do have the T7 Possess Essence master. Everything else is at Adept III, although I am out of Tynnonium (no 77s) and the prices have gone beyond my means for the moment.

My opinion:

1) Solo T7 EoF zones like OOB and CoV to get some practice on heroic mobs.
2) Move into Karnor's Castle, the named there have a ton of HP but the trash won't one-shot you.
3) Try Chelsith, and/or CoA (won't be able to get every named)
4) Try Sebilis, but you won't be able to get any named
5) Try Chardok, again, probably won't be able to get any named
