Re: CoA
You dont need high crit or reuse for Chelsith. I do it in Mediocre instance gear, the fights are just more boring

Re: CoA
I did Chel'sith from the start of the expansion - it's certainly much more difficult, but it's doable. You can obtain a few pieces of Dispersion gear which will help when you screw up. The safer way (instead of laying out all your dots, etc on it) is by suiciding pets against the named, and keeping it rooted. This avoids the problem of when you need a stun but your reuse isn't high enough.
Make sure to buff your pets with hate, although it won't really take much to out-aggro them. Throw in a shockwave and mindbend once in a while to help your pet stay alive, and if you are feeling confident, add in a Tyrannous Mind-Stun-Nuke-Nuke combo, reapplying Root or Mez after.

Re: CoA
The safest way is to:
1) Not use DoTs if you have a low reuse.
2) When no stun is up, Mez.
Root is far too unreliable (especially with named) and should only be used as a safety net in case they resist a stun.
If the named in Chelsith don't one-shot you, you will have just a sliver of health left if they get to you.
I macro /pet attack to Hemmorage and /pet backoff with the Mez. It works pretty well for me.

Re: CoA
I don't use a pet against nameds, don't like the chance of it breaking. I mezz and stack reactives, and do it in bursts, with mezz in between to make up for my lack of reuse. Normally drop the nameds in 3-4 bursts using that Method.
I wouldn't recommend leaving the nameds rooting and not mezzed/stunned/stifled, as they Aqua Burst like beasts.

If the mob is stunned the pet can attack all he wants. Hell I'll go in there with STR spec in Karnor's to make sure I get all ticks of Hostage. I'll respec to WIS if I do Chelsith.
The only problem is when they resist stun (that is, when it lands but does nothing) which happens 10-20% of the time it seems. However, in KC, you can take 2-3 hits usually.
I rarely die to named now (except for the stun bit) and usually its the trash that gets me because I get too impatient and get careless.
However, I don't bother with WIS much anymore since I just have a troub AF me with Song of Magic running for extra subjugation. Jcap on pull works great too, just make sure Aria isn't running

Re: CoA
I dont work with roots in Chelsith too. Just the methode:
Mezz, stun, only single dmg burst, stun, mezz, wait for spells are up again, mezz, stun.... circle..
I only use pet to kill the trash near the named. its pretty simple if they kill themself.
Only annoying thing is the stun resist sometimes. you get named down to 25% and resist... argh...
and of course my badass mob.. the cube... i hate him...
Dont have high crit or extra dmg... the fights only takes longer than as it would take with higher crit. but its do-able
