Default BP vs BP?

Hmm, i was trying to think would
\aITEM 2044171361 -1773341255:[Robe of Coercion]\/a
or
\aITEM -739501996 -666350431:[Robe of Spectral Coercion]\/a

would bet better, for dps of course (since you don't have pvp gear listed.. thought i'd ask.. i don't think i did the math right so im asking

5 spell crit damage plus 15% convulsions is equivalent to 8-9% dps increase, assuming you aren't maxing spell damage (which you shouldn't if you're having that bp as an option)

3 extra triggers of hostage is between 11% and 20% dps increase depending your base damage.

Though pvp BP doesnt beat rok/tso BP in dps, it adds up way more than just 7% since bards' trigger buffs got bugged and keep buffing hostage triggers upto 10.

1)
i´m having a hard time to figure out a setup for the the robe of the undying that beats my setup with the vp-setrobe setup. i seems to me i get almost the same results with both setups but because of te many procs and all its very difficult to compare while parsing a training-puppet

i have 128%-130% base damage (when i dont wear choker and without the heritage gloves procing) and can keep spell dmg around 960 or above with both setups. only my spell crit changes. (around 90% with the vason robe, 85% with vp-robe)

as the VP-robe does 11-20% dps increase as stated above i´m curious on your opinions which robe to wear and under which circumstances the varson robe really is better if you have other apropriate gear.

2)
Also i´m not sure about the void curse items since the proc was nerved. i have 4 items with the curse: the ring, cloak and wristlet (+4%crit+curse) from ferzuhl, and the amulett from bazuhl or wherever

specially for the cloak and the wristlet i would have other good choices which would give me more spelldmg.
HOw highly do you guys still value the void bane items? do you try to wear as many as possible or only on slots where you dont have other good options?

forgotten ring of souls + 2 (does it mean +2%?)
spellbinder mantle 4%
hq gloves 5%
coercive slippers +2
choker 10%
--------------------------
23%

I'm just curious where you get the other 100+ base dmg from and since you got around 20% from your AA = 43 you only had to obtain 57 since 100 is cap.

edited fyi

btw. for that voidbane stuff... I would try out which gives you more dmg.. means check how much add. voidbane is buffing it and compare it with stats from your other item.

Even before the change to voidbane, I found that I did more dps using the obsession wristlet instead of the GVB wrist.

My dps definitely increased when I switched to the VP robe instead of the robe of undying, but my crit is fairly low (75%). I wish we could actually use training dummies to see what's best, unfortunately hostage isn't even down when the spell is up again, so there's no way to parse it accurately.

well i assumed 100% as base dmg without modifiers. i guess that was misleading.

i have

+5% base dmg endskill Tso tree
15 % int line endskill
+2% forgotten ring of souls
+4% spellbinder mantle
+2% coercive slippers
----------
28%

another
10% choker when i waer it
2% coercive cuffs of twistet thoughts (but i wear the necrotic wrist wrappings most of the time)

as hostage does so much of our damage i assumed that the more base dmg mod i have the more valuable the vp-robe will be in comparison with other robes and i will surely loot more mod items.

another assumption i made is the more crit i have the more the crit bonus from the robe of the undying will kick in.

but it drives me crazy that i dont really get reliable confirmation from parsing the training puppet :-)
my old record used to be around 8500 with the robe of the undying, just now i tried my vp robe setup again and parsed 9200 on the first try. but most of the times the parse is about the same between 7000-8000 for both setups

btw in case this is relevant:

i checked again and my vp robe setup right now is
86% crit (without potions, etc)
985 spell dmg
2% crit bonus

my robe of the undying setup is
88% crit (or 90%crit and 960spelldmg)
1000 spell dmg
7% crit bonus

casting speed modifiers etc stay the same.

DID ANY of you manage to beat the vp-robe with any other setup? my guess is maybe after they nerve the 3 extra triggers :-)

edit: now that i wrote all my thoughts down it seems pretty obvious to me that the vp robe is still the best for me. specially since with my current gear the varson robe setup still lacks significant crit-advantage
