I'm just curious where you get the other 100+ base dmg from and since you got around 20% from your AA = 43 you only had to obtain 57 since 100 is cap.

well i assumed 100% as base dmg without modifiers. i guess that was misleading.
i have
+5% base dmg endskill Tso tree
15 % int line endskill
+2% forgotten ring of souls
+4% spellbinder mantle
+2% coercive slippers
----------
28%
another
10% choker when i waer it
2% coercive cuffs of twistet thoughts (but i wear the necrotic wrist wrappings most of the time)
as hostage does so much of our damage i assumed that the more base dmg mod i have the more valuable the vp-robe will be in comparison with other robes and i will surely loot more mod items.
another assumption i made is the more crit i have the more the crit bonus from the robe of the undying will kick in.
but it drives me crazy that i dont really get reliable confirmation from parsing the training puppet :-)
my old record used to be around 8500 with the robe of the undying, just now i tried my vp robe setup again and parsed 9200 on the first try. but most of the times the parse is about the same between 7000-8000 for both setups
btw in case this is relevant:
i checked again and my vp robe setup right now is
86% crit (without potions, etc)
985 spell dmg
2% crit bonus
my robe of the undying setup is
88% crit (or 90%crit and 960spelldmg)
1000 spell dmg
7% crit bonus
casting speed modifiers etc stay the same.
DID ANY of you manage to beat the vp-robe with any other setup? my guess is maybe after they nerve the 3 extra triggers :-)
edit: now that i wrote all my thoughts down it seems pretty obvious to me that the vp robe is still the best for me. specially since with my current gear the varson robe setup still lacks significant crit-advantage
